“Great quality, warm welcome and perfect location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 16, 2013

I've been attending the Newport University campus one weekend a month for the last 6 months and staying at the Pendragon B&B has been an important part of my course experience. Every time I get an enormous warm welsh welcome and the owners have gone way beyond the call of duty to make my stay perfect. I've stayed in each of the rooms and I've always had a great nights sleep. The walk to the university is very short and just what you need after your breakfast! 10/10 from me!

I simply had to book this B&B after reading all of the reviews on here. Pendragon House is situated in the center of Caerleon with very easy walking access to all the Roman Sites, eateries and shops. Parking can be arranged just around the corner from the B&B by obtaining a voucher from the B&B owners Katy & Pete.
We arrived in the evening and where welcomed into their house with a great big smile and a very Welsh welcome. We had requested a twin room and our room was on the 2nd floor. The room itself was lovely decorated. Everything was thought off, from complimentary water, coffee to a torch in case of emergencies. The beds where incredibly comfortable and the sheets nice and work and fluffy. Kathy was able to give us plenty of recommendations as where to eat. One piece of advice, if you stay over on a Saturday night, try to book a table somewhere as the most popular places get booked up pretty quickly. We had a lovely meal in the restaurant directly opposite the B&B Curro's.
Our Breakfast the next morning was lovely! We where asked the night before as to what we would like to eat and it was cooked all to perfection. A great traditional breakfast accompanied with some great advice as to what area's of wales to Explore.
This B&B is a real gem and both my travelling companion as well as myself would strongly recommend you stay here. You can not get this level of hospitality in a chain hotel. I would love to stay here once again!

Still surprises me when people stay in soulless hotels when there are places like this with so much to offer around at really affordable prices. The hostess Kathy is so friendly and helpful and a wealth of knowledge. The house itself is a stunning Georgian extravaganza and basically a museum in itself. Kathy will give you a tour of the centuries. Parking is available and the choice of breakfast is wide and tasty. The rooms themselves are clean modern (fitting with the period of the property) have net access and great bathrooms and comfy large beds. It's little wonder customers return. Our company will use in future as staff and customers can't sop talking about the place and its owners. Really special establishment in a great location within a stunning village, with roman museum fort and amenities all around. A treat..............

Room Tip: Front of property on high street but not an issue. Plenty of good eating establishments within few m...

We had a fantastic overnight stay at the Pendragon B&B as part of whistle stop trip to Wales with friends for a 30th birthday party in the village. Katherine and Peter went the extra mile for us throughout our stay, from letting us select our own rooms (our group had reserved all of them) to providing extra wine glasses and delaying breakfast to allow us a bit longer in bed. The B&B was immaculate with modern rooms, incredibly comfy beds, excellent facilities and free wifi. We just wish that we could have stayed longer.

Room Tip: Room 3 had a superking bed.

We have to agree with the reviews here, having stayed here a number of times, it's always a treat. Rooms clean, comfortable and cheerful. Great filling breakfasts. Wonderful hosts in Katherine and Peter. Caerleon is a treasure of a town with it's Roman Barracks, amphitheatre and museum a must for those with an interest in Romano-British history.

Spent a lovely two nights at the Pendragon House whilst on university business. An absolute jewel in Caerleon, which is a great little place with plenty of Roman sights to see not to mention its close proximity in relation other tourist trails including the Arthur/Merlin legend. Nothing's too much trouble for Kath and she's also a mine of information should you need it. You can feel the pride that's gone into the place and the rooms, beds and so on just perfect for a good night's sleep. Given all the 'big boys' in the Cardiff/ Newport area, it's great to see a small B&B stand toe to toe with them and offer something both different and better.

We have just returned from a 2 night stay in one of the best B&B's that we have ever stayed in and we have stayed in many over the last 40 years.
The proprietors Katherine and Peter set excellent standards. The room Number 1 was great, the huge bed so comfortable with excellent mattress and beautiful sumptuous cotton sheets. The en-suite very roomy with nice white cotton towels and super lighting. We opted for the cooked breakfast both mornings which was delicious although there is a nice variety of other combinations on offer as well.
It is spotlessly clean and really well equipped. Katherine made us a lovely pot of tea with biscuits on arrival and made us feel very welcome. She is a fountain of knowledge about the history of Caerleon and all it has to offer. We walked the heritage trail stopping off at a few hostelries for refreshment as we made our way round the Roman town. The Pendragon is well placed in the centre of the town and we were given a parking place at the pub around the corner with a permit to display. We had a meal at Curro's opposite and that was fab.....recommend the steak! There are plenty of pubs and eating establishments for all tastes. Nice craft shops in cobbled yard on High Street.
If you want a break in this area this is the place to stay. We shall certainly go back and will recommend it unreservedly to all our friends and family.
Thank you Katherine and Peter for making our weekend experience so wonderful.
