The Glenlivet Distillery was established by George Smith in 1824 in Ballindalloch, Scotland. The tour was free, the only free Distillery tour we had in all of Ireland and Scotland. We visited the warehouse, and the distillery. At the end of the tour we were invited to taste a complimentary dram of the liquid gold. There is a very nice Visitor Center, sparkling clean restrooms, store and cafe where we had a lovely soup and dessert lunch. It was the best Distillery we visited on the recommendation of the tram driver at Balmoral Castle. There is a more indepth tour but it must be booked in advance and the cost is 24 Pounds.
