“Excellent food and service - outstanding value for money”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 19, 2013

I visited the Upper Largo hotel for dinner last night as part of a large function. The service was welcoming (thanks goodness as it was blizzard conditions outside!) and warm - all the staff were lovely and very helpful throughout the night. Food was superb - great quality, really delicious with wonderful choice and outstanding value for money. This was the second time I'd been (last time for lunch) and we were amazed at the size of the hotel - the function suite had it's own bar and toilet facilities and if you're looking for a function for a party/wedding, this is a great option. Well done Margaret and her great team! We had a thoroughly great night....

It is good value, and there are lots of other good value places to try. Seats were unconfortable after an hour or so... could do with more padding either on the seats or me ! I had the old stanbdard fish and chips, very nice. Others had the turkey which was good too. The roasties were not so good and they tasted as though they had been re-heated from the day before. They could improve on desserts as the pavlova appered to be a standard merangue nest filled with cream and fruit, not a proper pav. Would I go again ? Yes.

Stayed at the Upper Largo for two nights after Xmas. Room comfortable and facilities excellent, room was even cleaned and towels changed while we had breakfast on the 1st morning! As for breakfast, if you want a meal to last all day just ask for the full Scottish. Also excellent evening meal at price!

Just returned from enjoying a super lunch here. The Festive Menu was excellent value offering a very good three course meal with a varied choice of fare.
An A La Carte menu was available if you wished.
The staff were friendly, polite and attentive. Our meal was served promptly, in pleasant surroundings. This has been our third visit here in twelve months.
We'll be back you can count on it.

If you are in Fife try the Upper Largo Hotel. You get a wonderful three course lunch at a very reasonable price. It is always first class and the staff are very helpful and friendly. I am very lucky that I live in this area and can go there often. Because I live in the area I have never stayed in the hotel but I am sure it will be excellent.

Coming up from the gorgeous beach at Lower Largo, as you might expect, you drive straight into Upper Largo. The first thing we saw was the hotel and from the outside it looked very quaint and welcoming. We popped in around 4.30 and discovered that the restaurant offered a very good 3 course lunch at the extremely reasonable price of £8.95. Spicy pumpkin soup was on the menu for a starter and it was top rate. Also the battered haggis in whiskey sauce is one to try. We both had steaks and finished it off with luxurious choc fudge cake and cheese and biscuits. The entire meal along with a few glasses of wine and a large coke came to £31.00. Brilliant! The service was absolutely excellent, the restaurant filled up very quickly after we arrived and there seemed to be only two waiting staff on but the politeness and friendliness of both was 10 out of 10. Would go again and would definitely recommend the restaurant to anyone passing by this beautiful, little part of the world.
