We visited this family owned and run restaurant on Saturday night for dinner with a fairly large group. The food was delicious! Hearty, homely and plentiful. Healthy local dishes included risotto, quality prosciutto that melts in your mouth, roasted and marinated vegetables (artichoke hearts was a favourite) – hats off to the chef!
The decor is nice and features a lot of original art and sculptures from the region. The atmosphere was homely, everyone seemed to be enjoying their meals, drinking and having a good time. Staff are friendly and attentive.
The set menu works great, the food keeps coming and it all tastes great. The highlight is of course the Spiedo (slow cooked spit grill), both chicken and pork – the chicken tender and juicy, the pork crispy outside, soft inside.
The large outdoor area for al fresco dining would have been great in summer, but the night we were there it was a little chilly outside.
Overall the food was great, the atmosphere was enjoyable and we were in fantastic company. I would definitely come back, and highly recommend a visit if you’re staying or travelling through the area.
