“Wonderful zoo”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 4, 2013

My boyfriend and I are a 28 year-old couple with no children- for reference. We were turned off by going here for awhile because of the extensive advertising towards children and it being a "Kinderdierentuin." But since we had a coupon we decided to go anyway. We ended up loving it! It was a beautiful, sunny day and the animals were all out. We were in time for several of the shows- which although short- were a nice addition. The zoo was much better than we expected, and we ended up spending about 2.5-3 hours (again, without children). If we had children, I could picture being there for much of the day as there are many playgrounds and slides etc. for children around the park.

“Nice for children but overpriced”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed February 8, 2013

This is a small zoo near Eindhoven. We visited this zoo on a sunny winter day, after a long rainy period. The foothpaths were very wet, puddles everywhere. There were very few people.

It is marketed as a children friendly zoo. Besides the animals there is an indoor playground and there is a big outdoor playground and some smaller outdoor playgrounds. The kids had great fun during 2,5 hours.

A lot of animals that appeal to young children are present. 3 elephants, tigers, 3 young lions, polar bears, brown bears, wolves and red pandas. In the Netherlands there are some companies that call themselves "zoo" (for example "Aqua zoo","Best Zoo" and Zoo Parc Overloon) but those zoos only have small animals and birds and not the classical zoo animals.

The entrance fee was € 16,50 per person and parking costs € 5,00. The zoo is overpriced compared to other big Dutch zoos, that we’ve visited in the past. Zoos in Rhenen, Emmen and Arnhem are at least twice as large with an winter entrance fee that is almost the same. So next time we’ll chose one of the big zoos.
