“No housekeeping if you stay 2 nights”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 20, 2014

Yes it was extremely charming and the hosts very friendly. But this wears thin if you stay for consecutive and/or hot nights (no AC) If you stay more than one night, you will unfortunately find that the word "conservation" means your bed will remain unmade, your glasses dirty, your garbage not emptied & of course no clean towels, However a note on the dresser asks you to live a tip for the housekeeping service???? Very very strange. Also beware one of the smallest rooms has a very low ceiling and is only suitable if you are under 5'4"". . Breakfast tip - Go to La Belle Epoque just across the bridge - wonderful home cooked huge breakfasts & extremely reasonable prices

Jay and Danielle the proprietors were amazing. The place was gorgeous, well appointed, fashionable, comfy, felt right at home. I checked in late as a solo traveler but Jay stayed w/as I ate a scrumptious late meal that the chef whipped up for me after the kitchen had closed. It was delightful.

Four yoga girlfriends taking a 130 km bike trip on the converted railway track from L' Annonciation to St. Jerome. Our first stop was this real beautiful converted train stop...we were so worried about finding it but there was no missing it!
What a great surprise! We had trouble leaving. The beds and pillows were better than at home, one friend brought a pillow but used the one provided because of its quality...every room was immaculate. We stayed in three different B&B's the other two with private baths. I think we all agreed that this is the one we would return to...it was just so far above the other experiences.
Jay describes the menu as comfort food, there were so many options that it was hard to decide...my yoga buddies are also vegetarians so they really appreciated the carefully prepared vegetarian options...I enjoyed the bacon, cheese burger with excellent french fries. We had Bloody Cesars and great white wine.
Breakfast was the most perfect Eggs Benedict with a perfect fresh Hollandaise and smoked salmon, Thank you Jay, Danielle, Louise for making out stay exceptional.

Room Tip: We saw all the rooms...my girlfriend and I like having single beds and we had a sink in our room whi...

Marie & I stayed overnight at this delightful Auberge in Labelle Quebec. Danielle & Jay - owners/operators, husband and wife team - along with her mom Louise, made our stay so enjoyable. The Auberge is in a converted train station along the P'tit Train du Nord that used to run between Saint-Jérôme and Mont-Laurier. The owners have refurbished this converted train stop into a gem of a place. The bar, the dining room and any of the five available rooms are rustic and true to their original roots. For supper Marie and I shared a scrumptious vegetable soup, a yummy pizza Provençal and texas ribs that melted in your mouth. Of course, it's all home made, fresh and delicious, and you have to have the french fries!! And breakfast was amazing as well, that included a choice of five home made breads all done on the premises, eggs any way you like and homemade peach jam!!. Great place to get away from hectic city life!! Highly recommend.

Room Tip: Five rooms to choose from....# 5 was perfect!

A pleasant stay at the auberge. Danielle was very accommodating returning in the evening to cook for me as the sole guest on what should have been a night off for her. Her mother Louise was equally charming.

I recommend the poutine avec confit de canard for lunch...it's sinfully decadent.

Room Tip: Try to plan on a hot bath in the claw foot tub!

Our family was cycling the Petit Train du Nord, and this was an overnight stop. We were on the family plan, with dinner and breakfast included.

Both restaurant and rooms are in the historic Gare (station) right on the path. The rooms are on the second floor, in the old stationmaster's residence, and are lovingly furnished with antiques. Our beds - a large double and a cot for our adult daughter travelling with us - were very comfortable. Unfortunately in view of an unseasonable heat wave and high humidity, the rooms have neither air conditioning nor ceiling fan, and the oscillating floor fan could do little to cool the room. That probably wouldn't be noticed in the normally cool evenings of a normal summer, nor the other three seasons of the year.

As is common in B&B's, especially historic ones, the bathroom is shared, but the hosts have effected a good compromise. One room is an (again antique-feeling) full bath with clawfoot tub. But another room has been converted to have two showers with private attached changing cubicle, and two private toilet stalls and a sink. As a result there's little chance of having to wait.

A note to cyclists: there are bike racks (and picnic tables) as part of this stop on the Petit Train du Nord, and then the owners will move your bikes into the restaurant to overnight once it closes. A good compromise.

The owners, Jay and Danielle, also operate the restaurant and bar on the first floor of the station. The food was excellent! For dinner I had steak-frites, a typical dish, and not only was the steak unexpectedly upgraded (a New York strip) but the fries were absolutely first rate, slender and crisp. Breakfast was even more sumptuous, especially all the homemade bread, and the setting on the outdoor terrace made it all the better.

Definitely a worthwhile stopover to dine, and (if the air is cool) to stay the night!

Room Tip: The rooms are all lovely, but (like any old home) hot when the summer air is still, and there's...

We stayed overnight while cycling the P'tit Train du Nord pathway. Our room was lovely with really nice sheets. The bathrooms are shared but very nice with one having a nice bathtub. Very quiet at night.

The food at the pub is excellent. They bake all their own bread. We had nice deep fried calamari, delicious hamburgers, and the next day, at breakfast, an amazing crepe with mushrooms and bechamel sauce.

They lock your bike inside overnight as well - so no worries here. I would stay there again. Reserve early as there are only 5 rooms.
