Chez Roullett is situated in a stunning location and is very tranquil and peaceful. The gite has recently been renovated to a high standard by Gaynor and Stephen who live on site.

The accommodation was superb, very spacious, beautifully designed in great taste and with attention to every detail. It was also spotless. This is not the cheapest gite in the area- but it is worth every penny. It has a lovely elevated terrace and the pool was great to relax in. Top all of this off with the most wonderful hosts. They are truly inspirational, they have done a great job in transforming the property and are always available when needed but never imposing. Both are very knowledgeable of the area. We can highly recommend this cottage especially if you're looking for a romantic, peaceful, gentle place to spend a break.

“Amazingly beautiful, tranquil cottage with private pool”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 21, 2013 for a stay in July 2012

We stayed here last July on our mini-moon and couldn't fault it in the slightest. It was the perfect place to relax and unwind after our wedding. The warm welcome received from Steve and Gaynor and their attention to detail in the cottage was very much appreciated. They were completely unobtrusive but very approachable with queries or advice on what to do in the surrounding area, and generally a lovely, friendly couple.

The cottage itself is idyllic, the décor is beautiful and it was more than comfortable and spacious for the two of us for our weeks stay. We loved having meals on the balcony overlooking the stunning French countryside. The pool is a fabulous plus, and is extremely well maintained and decked out - it was very much needed in the 28+ degree heat we had!!

We did hire bikes (which Steve kindly organised) however we ended up being far too lazy to use them! The countryside is stunning. The nearby towns of Castelnau-Montratier and Montpezat de Quercy are lovely, and have great restaurants. We also visited Rocamadour, Cahors and Saint-Cirq Lapopie (a must-see pretty village), each manageable as half-day trips.

I wouldn't hesitate to visit Chez Roullett again, and would definitely recommend it as a peaceful getaway location. We have wonderful memories from our stay there.

“Picturesque cottage, well equipped and comfortable. Excellent location with great hosts.”

Everything about Chez Roullett is first class. The thought and care that has gone into the restoration and the wonderful location make it an unbeatable holiday destination.

The bedroom is large, light and tastefully furnished, the views across the valley through the bedroom window are superb.

Downstairs the kitchen, living room and shower room are well appointed with everything you would expect for a relaxing holiday.

Best of all are the terrace and pool areas. The pool is very well done, with a pool house for when it's too hot to sit by the pool. The views over the valley towards the Pyrenees from the pool and terrace were outstanding.

The owners gave us a warm welcome and went out of their way to make our stay as enjoyable as possible. We were strangers to the area, but loved exploring the towns, vineyards and restaurants (steered by an excellent visitors guidebook provided for guests).

For such a superb gite the price was extremely reasonable.

“Chez Fantastic”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 4, 2012 for a stay in August 2012

Stayed for two weeks and had a fabulous time. The gite was clean, modern and had all the things you would need for self catering. There is a lovely view from the balcony where there is a lovely little table and chairs where you can sit out and eat watching the country side and wild life. The pool is clean and modern and well looked after with decking areas all around and nice wooden good quality sun loungers for soaking up the rays but also has good shaded areas and sun blinds when it gets a bit too hot.

The gite is in the middle of the country side which was lovely and peaceful - road networks are good with a little village 5-10 mins drive and the city of Cahors is about 20 - 25 min drive away with lovely restaurants, a big super market and lots of other shops plus lots of history.

The owners (Steve and Gaynor) were fantastic very helpful about the local areas and whats on at the time. They were happy to leave us to our own devices but all we had to do was knock on their kitchen door if we needed anything - nothing was too much trouble - we got on with them very well and would highly recommend their gite to friends and family without a doubt and hope to go back.

“Surprisingly excellent Chez Roullett”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 15, 2012 for a stay in June 2011

Set overlooking a peaceful wooded vaIley, it takes less than an hour to reach Chez Roullett. from Toulouse airport. The welcome by the english owners is like the accommodation, superb. And there is an added bonus of having your own 'private' walled swimming pool.
Nearby are traditional villages which offer the basics but for serious shopping, the medieval town of Cahor's is just minutes away. Set on the banks of the river Lot, Cahor is full of interesting shops, a wonderful indoor market and many good resturants. There is so much to see and do in the 'Lot' area and we shall certailnly return to discover more.

“Tranquil and Relaxing”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 9, 2012 for a stay in August 2011

What a treat it was to stay in your beautiful residence. It was obvious to see the hardwork that had been put into the property. The boys loved the pool and I loved the opportunity to relax. It was so nice to have fresh linen, a lovely touch. Thank you so much, it was a great location for exploring and relaxing.

“Simply delightful Gite in an elevated location in stunning countryside”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 8, 2012 for a stay in September 2011

Mr & Mrs Bannister have created a beautiful holiday gite from a former farm outbuilding. Rural views from the balcony are second to none and the heated swimming pool was a real bonus. We have never stayed in such a wonderfully maintained and beautifully presented holiday retreat. Our hosts gave us such a warm welcome and were always available giving us excellent information about touring the region, restaurant recommendations and the wines and food of the area. The property and nearby villages give a real feel of the authentic french way of life and the riverside town of Cahor only a short distance away is both an historic and modern centre for the region.
