“Do they know walkers have right of way?!!!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed January 19, 2012 via mobile

Whilst minding my own business walking across the burrows this afternoon with my three year old daughter a golf ball landed just yards from her! The two gentlemen easily saw us but apparent later told ne ' they didn't have time to wait for everyone to get out the way!' my husband Abd brother are going out everyday until they meet these two middle aged stout gentlemen and have a 'chat' with upsetting a single woman and scaring a little girl. Disgusting. I have reported thus to a mark Evans? Who seemed uninterested. Lovely north Devon!

“RND--Fabulous Links Golf Experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 17, 2009

What a place. Understated yet history-filled clubhouse, welcoming members, majestic views...and sheep! And dogs! And horses! The oldest club in England welcomed us with open arms, and we savored the open expanses, the views of the sea, and the combination of all types of outdoor enthusiasts. Can't see enough except this...go for it on 17, and don't lay up to avoid the burn on 18. You just might live with aching regret if you put your careful pitch in the drink anyway. Be sure to have a beverage after and check out the history: from JH Taylor's mashie from the 1908 Open Championship to Tom Watson's fairly recent scorecard (67...ho hum...).

“real golf history”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 20, 2006

... if you find yourself in this part of Devon with a set of golf clubs to hand ( if not the pro will hire you a set!)don't miss out on a trip down the memory lane of golf.Thought to be to oldest links in England the course has changed little over it's first century of play - sheep and ponies roam the common land and are asked "nicely" not to trample the fantastic greens which are huge and undulating - mainly always in fantastic condition - bullrushes and the roar of the atlantic ocean only a few metres away also provide a magnificant setting for this tough tough course - yes you really do feel that this is how golf began .... a fantastic club house museum of golfing antiquities and good home cooked grub - A GREAT AFTERNOONS GOLF ( shame about my score ! )
