As far as Pub food goes this is as good as it gets. Service was fairly swift and the staff were friendly. Would I visit again? Definite Yes!

“Lovely home cooked food in a cosy atmosphere!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 7, 2013 via mobile

We visited here in the afternoon this week and were happy to see they were still serving food. After previously eating in the Rhos Fynach our expectations were high and once again they were met! Lovely home cooked food beautifully presented, good service and right by the fire on a chilly day.

“Better, but more to be done”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 3, 2013

We'd avoided this, our 'local' pub for years due to moderate food and cliquey atmosphere but thought we'd give it a try again now there is new management.

Our reception was good & friendly and we were swiftly shown to our pre-booked table.

The food was much better, a limited menu but that's fine if it's well-prepared which ours were in general apart from rather tough beef in the Roast of the Day. Portion sizes were ample without being excessive.

The service however was patchy. Although there were at least 4 staff bringing food in etc., it was unclear as to which was 'our' server and there were long delays between courses. This may have been caused by a wedding party in the upstairs function room but needs to be addressed

We were encouraged by the overall improvement and will certainly be returning..

“Great food and atmosphere”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 27, 2013

We ate here during the Conwy food festival so it was difficult to find a table anywhere there were no tables available but they said we could squeeze onto a bar table if we wanted, we did and and were so pleased that we did as the food was great. There were six of us, the staff were great and very apologetic about the table but that was our choice as we had not booked.

The food was very good, interesting and beautifully presented. Can highly recommend the seafood platter and the key lime pie dessert was great too with a twist having the biscuit base on the top!

Had a lovely evening.
