“Club Aphrodite”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 5, 2012

We arrived on Saturday late in the evening. To go by the picture on the Club's web page we were under the impression that all the accomodation was all in one location. However, we had to go down the road to our appartment and down some steps to our entrance.
The appartment was well furnished. Unfortunately the television only recieved analogue signal so we were stuck with one English speaking news channel for the week. On Sunday, the reception was closed so we were unable to hire a car until the next day. The nearest mini-market was about a mile away and it was quite a struggle to carry large bottles of water back to our appartment in the heat.
We hired a car via reception on Monday for four days and planned to visit some places we had not been able to see on our previous holiday.
You need to beware if you take out one of these holiday cash cards promoted by the Travel agents. We almost ran out of petrol up in the mountains, but managed to find a filling station open. Later on when we decided to put more petrol in we found a filling station that was closed but you could dispense petrol via an automated pump on the insertion of your card. I put the card in but could not understand the instructions so withdrew the card. I did the same at another garage before finding one that was open. We were horrified when we went to pay for a meal later that night back at the club and the could not pay with the card. Apparently money had been taken off the card by the two filling stations simply by inserting the card into their machines! We spent the rest of the week back at the club with little money left.
The club is set in a quiet neighbourhood which makes a change from the usual noise and bussle of more centrally located esablishments. Although this was a holiday to celebrate our Silver Wedding anniversary, it was spoilt somewhat by our experiences.
However, this would not put us off staying here again as this is still a very good place to stay.

This resort is situated in a quiet residential area outside Limassol and is perfectly placed for reaching all areas of the island providing you have your own car. The accommodation, poolside and in several nearby buildings around the estate is on a hillside with the nearest minimarket
( corner shop) 1.2Km down the hill and many steps within the complex itself.
Judging by the rates in the resort brochure you will pay more than twice the price for their car hire than if you pre-book in UK and collect at the airport. See our review for car hire. There are lots of great places to visit and driving is easy. Don’t be afraid to go over the border, that’s not difficult either.
The apartments are large and airy and most have a balcony. The beds are OK but the pillows are dreadful, small lumps of sponge. The kitchen area was a pleasant surprise and though it didn’t have an oven it had a combination microwave, fridge and small freezer. The apartment was kept beautifully clean and the aircon worked well.
The pool area and restaurant was attractive with a good menu. However they seem to cater more for the local ex-pats who have been given free access to the facilities than for the guests. So there are not enough sun beds available, and on several nights a week you are tortured by blaring pop music (karaoke! ) until 1.30am and a quiz night, all very chavvy. We were annoyed that the pool was closed on our last day at 2.30 so they could set up for a private affair much later that evening. Just one note about the pool, there is only a ladder to get in and out by.

Reception is closed all day on Sunday.Other than car hire and sales info. there was no information brooklet in the room giving any details about the resort so we had to ask to find out anything. Maria is still surly and grouchy and not particularly competent ( see review chrisr123). All the other staff we met were lovely.
The library and the laundry were very useful.

Room Tip: Rooms 101 - 105 are directly over the bar/restaurant, and rooms 106-110 are right next door so all a...

We booked a studio apartment this year after having stayed there the year before. The location is really good if you are planning to go to Kourion or Pissouri beach. It isn't too far from Limassol, but you need a car to get there and it might be annoying to travel back in the night. Nearby there are many shops and few supermarkets well furnished of pretty much of anything you need. There are also nice small restaurants in the area. Rooms are really good especially when compared to similar accommodations in the area. There is a small kitchen in the studio with a small but functional fridge. Bigger apartments have really good kitchens and fridges. All apartments have a balcony which is nice for dining Iout. TVs and air-conditioning are Ok, although air-conditioning might be noisy when is really hot. The place is really clean and staff clean deeply every day. Towels in the bathroom are clean but very hard. Good showers and sink. There is also an horse to dry the clothes.
Check it on the map first and if you are looking for a place not too far from limassol and close to beaches then this could a good place to stay.

We have just returned from a two week break in Cyprus, the first staying at the excellent Club Aphrodite in Erimi. This was our second stay in the last three years and our apartment, as before was spacious, well maintained and perfectly positioned for our requirements.

Maria and the staff at Club Aphorodite are always helpful and it was a pleasure to enjoy the facilities by the pool or the restaurant. We are regulars to the island and find that Erimi is an excellent base for visiting the local historic sites as well as the fabulour Curium Beach..you must try Chris Blue Beach restauarant too.

All in all an excellent stay at an excellent resort, one we will return to withouit hesitation..thank you guys.

Room Tip: Fini Block for a cracking terrace view.

Let me start by saying that we only spent one night here on our way to another city. We didn't use the pool area so I can really only comment on the rooms and the location of the hotel.

The rooms that we got was great. Big, clean and newly renovated.
Hotel staff was very friendly and the pool area seemed ok, somewhat small compared to bigger hotels but still nice.

The location of the hotel was ok, the city that it is in seemed very small and you have to drive to get to the beach but in terms of value for money I was impressed with the hotel.

If you are on a budget (who isn't...) then I think this hotel could be a good choice for you. Just keep in mind that when we were there (mid July) it was VERY hot since it's not very close to the ocean and depending on the lenght of your stay you may get bored with the relatively small pool area.

We spent one week at the Club Aphrodite that was reserved through RCI. The place was clean but the furniture could have been upholstered with better material. The toilet flush was out of order for four days although we complained. Drapes in the bedroom were not hung properly. One thing that annoyed us very much was when we found out that there was no shuttle (although publicized on the web). As we were not used to drive on the right side of the car, we were obliged to take a taxi going to Limassol, and a taxi coming back, and our Cypriot friends in Limassol often came all the way to pick us up. Why advertise of having a shuttle when this service is not available?
The good things were that when we came back we found our apartment very well cleaned, the towels changed, and everything spotless. Also the son of the owner, named Alexis, was a very nice and helpful person, who provided with his help any time of the day. The secretary or Office Assistant of the Aphrodite Club, Maria, is a grouchy young lady who is very abrupt in her answers. She often complained that she had a bad week and/or had problems.....
We will surely not return to Aphrodite Club again.

Room Tip: Make sure they check the apartment before they give you the key.... Our toilet flush did not work fo...

My wife and I stayed here for a week whilst visiting friends in the area. We were pleasantly surprised to find the apartment was spotlessly clean and maintained that way by a superbly efficiently cleaning lady. We also noted that the pool was cleaned every morning without exception, as were all the gardens, paths and patio areas.

As you would expect in Cyprus, the staff were wonderful and nothing was too much trouble for them. As for value for money, it will be very hard to beat.

Room Tip: We prefer room close to the pool and patio area so that we do not have to walk far to get a beer.
