“Fantastic hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 1, 2012

Just spent an all inclusive week at the Atlantica Beach Hotel, we were in room 450 which was`an upgrade well worth paying the extra for, very comfortable with a great sea view and sunsets from the balcony. We were extreamly impressed with the hotel especially the standard of service from all staff being very freindly and helpfull at all times, nothing was`too much trouble. We booked as it was my birthday and was very suprised to find in our room on my birthday a complimentry bottle of champagne on ice and a brithday card from the hotel manager, a reallly nice touch. During our stay we met another guest who had been visiting this hotel for the last 5 years and when she arrived at the airport found a chauffer driven limosine waiting for her to bring her to the hotel, great customer service. The entertainment team worked around the clock offering various activities during the day but weren't pushy for those guests who would rather just lay on the sun beds and relax. Drinks were plentyful, nice beers a wide choice of cocktails and wines, the food was great with something to suite most tastes with some fantastic deserts and,a very nice a la carte meal option. Evening entertainment was very good we really enjoyed Tony Blues who was a tribute to the Blues Brothers and many other great songs, a real entertainer and highly recommend that you see him if you get the opportunity. Did not hire a car as bus's run very regular each way up the coast for only 2 euro for the whole day. Very nice little golf course/driving range just along the road from the hotel managed by an English couple, very welcoming and helpful to myself and my wife who are not golfers but was great to have a try, good fun. All in all we would highly recomend this hotel if you are looking for a relaxed, enjoyable holiday with great service in a lovelly setting.

We stayed for a week, we booked a superior room, but it was outside the main hotel block, so wasn't a good start for us. The reception offered to change it but not until 3 days later. That night when getting ready to go to bed we heard a generator running and could not get to sleep, we phoned reception and the manager on duty took us to another room, when he found out that this was a belated honeymoon he took us to a suite for the night, which was lovely, when we returnrd the key to reception next morning we were told that we could keep the suite for the week, brilliant !!! The hotel is very nice, but the entertainment lets them down, there were only two nights when the entertainment was good, the rest of the time it was all audience participation and quizes, and the music was far too loud. we go on holiday to be entertained and enjoy dancing, there wasn't much of this I'm afraid. The staff were all brilliant, especially Nicoletta in the bar and George in the restaurant. The food was very repetative. We have stayed at the Atlantica Bay hotel near Limassol which we found much better, sorry Atlantica Golden Beach, but if we go back to Cyprus it will be Atlantica Bay !!!!

Room Tip: Corner suite is lovely

We went to this hotel for our 40th Wedding anniversary. It's a Thomson Gold and we loved it. All the staff including the entertainment staff were fantastic. We had a great laugh and a fantastic holiday. A short bus ride away from Paphos it was ideally placed and the buses ran every 15 mins or so.
One day we will return!!!!!!!!

Room Tip: Our room overlooked the pool. The view was spectacular.

We had good flights, albeit a little cramped, and was checked in at the hotel by Julie, who gave us lots of helpful information about the hotel, dining times etc. Our rooms was 446, which was on the top floor and overlooked the pool and sea. We had tea and coffee making facilities, which was a bonus, this was replenished every day, and also free use of the fridge, which was nice to keep drinks cool. You had to pay for the safe, which I thought could have been included as well. We got towels from reception, and as long as you returned them to reception when you checked out there was no charge.

We were entitled to one A la carte meal during our stay, the food was lovely - four courses! , and it was also nice to be waited on.

I can honestly say the staff were absolutely wonderful, special mention must go to Nicoletta in the Dionysees bar, she was a pure delight with all the guests, and remembered what are usual tipple was each evening.

We found the food in the dining room excellent, there was a roast joint of every night, a fish dish and always a vegetarian dish. We had freshly squeezed orange juice in the morning, which was lovely.

All in all a great hotel.

We hired a car via the Thomson rep with Europacar, we got 6 days for the price of 4, which we thought quite reasonable. We used the car on the days it wasn't warm enough to sit by the pool, and my husband used it to visit the driving range which is a mile or so up the road going into Paphos.

The only negative was that the hotel is on a main road, in between Paphos and Coral Bay, and there isn't really a nice path to go for a walk in the evening. One morning we parked the car at the George hotel, and walked along the path towards Paphos, but came accross a building site, so turned round.

Room Tip: Pay the extra and get the sea view room, or partial sea view, as the ones that are not face the busy...

Having just returned from a weeks stay at the hotel Atlantica Golden Beach I would just like to say what a great hotel this is. The staff are very pleasant and efficient with Nicholetta in the bar being by far the happiest of them all.
I would like to say thanks to the entertainment team Tony, Becky and Jinxs for keeping us well entertained throughout our stay, you enabled us to burn off some of the calories aquired through too much eating and drinking. The food in the hotel is great and you have got to be a fussy eater if you cannot find anything to suit your taste, but as usual when you stay in holiday hotels there is always someone who can find time to complain.
The hotel is remote but there is a good bus service outside the hotel which will take you to either Paphos or in the opposite direction to Coral Bay. We walked to the harbour in Paphos on our first day along the coastal path, this is an unmade path in parts and was quite rough underfoot, this took us about 2 hrs from the hotel and possibly about 8 miles, very enjoyable, needless to say we caught the bus back.
The weather was mixed,I have never got off an aeroplane before to a biting cold wind and sleet on the steps. Wondered what I had done with a suitcase of summer clothes and very little other. But thankfully the weather did change and we had a mixed week, some good days and some not so good. This is the first time that we have had such mixed weather having stayed at the Atlantica Bay in Limmasol on numerous occasions in Feb/March.
If I am to return I would book towards the end of March giving the weather chance to be more settled.
This hotel fronts onto a busy road and if you don't pay for a seaview or poolside you will be placed like us in a room fronting onto the road, this did not bother me too much as I am not a light sleeper but a couple in our party did find it quite annoying between 6 and 8 in the morning when everyone was going to work.
I would also recommend if you like a drink to go All Inclusive as the drinks are very expensive.
I feel that the recession seems to have hit, never before have I been in a hotel at this time of the year that has only been half full, but we had a great time 4 ladies together and if anyone reads this who was there with us then "Hello to you".
All in all a very enjoyable break with excellent food and far to much drink. Thankyou to all the staff and the entertainment team for making this hotel as good as it is, I would definitely book with this chain again.

Went to the Atlantica Golden Beach for our wedding anniversary. We usually go to the sister hotel Atlantica Bay just outside Limassol and have always been very happy and well looked after there as the staff are brilliant.
I decided this trip to try “The Beach” because of the time of year (Feb) as we usually go later in the year, and also for the approximation to Paphos if we were stuck for something to do ( Bus to Paphos every 15min @ 2euros for all day travel).
We thought that the "Atlantica Bay" could not be topped for what you get from a hotel so to be honest, I was still even though I had booked it, got a bit of "Have I done the right thing" going round in my head.
I need not have worried the place is absolutely fabulous. At check in we were offered tea \ coffee & cakes on arrival with a very short “Welcome to our Hotel” presentation from the hotel front desk staff, who then issued everyone with their room cards and organised the luggage to be taken to rooms.
We had a superior room with sea view and it was large \ clean \ comfortable with plenty of coat hangers and storage space. The bath \ shower had a Jacuzzi incorporated and the TV had all BBC \ ITV channels etc.
Every room has a safe that you have to pay a couple of euros a day for and we also had a fridge which was free at this time of year.
The grounds were clean & tidy with plenty of grass areas with sunbeds etc. away from the main pool area, which in itself is large. But I did to be honest wonder what it would be like in the high season when the hotel is full ??
The hotel staffs were ALL fantastic and did everything with a smile and only a thank-you needed or wanted in return. Other hotels could really learn from this place !!.
The restaurant food was really really nice with plenty of choice each and every night as it is buffet style, with option for “al a carte”.
The basis we went on was for all inclusive but we have never been sticklers for rigidly only eating at the hotel. If we fancy a meal out etc, we do. and indeed did, irrespective of the all-inclusive basis. Even so we were still well in front of what it would have cost had we been half board (take note) Cyprus is expensive.
Another note worth mentioning is that the all-inclusive basis is only any good if the hotel is good, as rubbish food and drinks for a week or two is not cost effective to anyone, but this is a very good all-inclusive.

I have seen on some reviews for this hotel that it has been mentioned that the food is somewhat repetitive, but we did not see this as there was every day \ night at least 3 choices of meat in differing styles and usually a roast on top, loads of different veg \salads \sweets \ fruit \ cheeses etc. etc.
Having said that, I suppose then that in having all this choice, then it WAS repetitive!!
Everyone we talked to raved about how good the food and drink was, we had no-one say differently, but I suppose that even whilst we were there, that someone would not be happy and write a negative review !! but that’s life.

We have always been for many years Gold \ Couples customers and this is a Thomson Gold hotel for adults, but that is only for Thomson guests. The hotel will take bookings for families directly so do not be surprised if a few kiddies are knocking around. If you want No Kids at all then book Thomson Couples.
The entertainment team of Tony & Andy were definitely the best we have encountered for a long time, with Tony in particular doing his first “stand-up” comedy spot and absolutely “nailing it”, he is a funny guy.
All in all a very good experience and we will definitely be returning here later in the season, but don’t tell “The Bay”.

Room Tip: Superior Room worth the extra & All inclusive option saves money.

We stayed here at the end of February/beginning March and the weather was probably about as bad as it gets for this time of the year in Cyprus but this is the risk you take. Thankfully the hotel made up for the poor weather and especially the lovel friendly staff who work there. The hotel has obviously been very nicely refurbished and the setting by the sea is very picturesque. The food was also very good and it is well worth upgrading to the drinks package even if you do not fancy the AI option. The hotel is quite a way out of Paphos but there is a very good bus service right outside the hotel. We joined in with some of the activities (mostly the 4pm quiz) and enjoyed some of the entertainment which I thought was mostly very good considering that it was out of season. Tony, in particular, does a great job on the entertainment side and is very genuine and friendly. Our rep, Kym, was also very good and seemed to be around quite a lot which doesn't happen at some hotels. All the bar and restaurant staff were very polite and welcoming, especially Nicoletta who was fantastic. We would love to go back to this hotel again but would defintiely go in the summer time to avoid having such disappopinting weather.
