“What Fine Okanagan Dining is All About”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 16, 2013

There are so many great wineries in the Okanagan, and a number have excellent dining facilities included, but our favorite is the Old Vines at Quail's Gate Winery. It's not as large as some of the better known spots, and the tables are laid out in a manner that encourages a relaxing and unhurried dinner. Located on the West slope above the Lake, there are lovely views from the restaurant over the vinyards to the Lake. On pleasant Spring evenings, such as the one we enjoyed, the doors to the patio open wide to give the sense of outdoor dining. The meals, from an interesting eclectic menu, are very good, but a tad pricy. As others have pointed out, a visit to the excellent and friendly tasting room before dinner helps narrow the selection at meal time.

“Chef Ramsey Would Be Pleased”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 14, 2013

Amazing view of the lake and surrounding vineyard. Although some have commented on the price being high for what you get, this is not the case. This is fine dining and you will pay what is average for it. What's important is that the selection was imaginative and tastes wonderful.

To really enjoy your meal be sure to get it with a wine that's properly paired with your selection, this they also do very well. They have a large and gorgeous outdoor dining area if you're going in the warm weather seasons, however their amazing panoramic view of the lake and surrounding vineyards is unobstructed by their glass walled indoor seating.

The bottom line, if you understand that fine dining costs $$$ and you want a fantastic experience from wine tasting to a palates fantasy, you'll love Quails Gate.

“Superb wine, resto, and location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 27, 2013

On a warm, sunny day on April 25, 2013, we arrived at Quails' Gate to taste their superb wines and have lunch at their acclaimed resto. The view alone is worth the drive.
First we began in the tasting room, where we were offered the wines we wished to taste, and learned about them in the depth we wanted. The oaked chard was delicious and we bought three of the regular and three of the reserve. My hubbie fell in love with their pinot and the fortified merlot, which is drunk as you would port.
Then to lunch - it was warm enough to eat out on the terrace. We shared the first course of charcuterie - all local. I followed that with tuna tartine sitting on egg salad with hard-boiled egg and pea shoots. My hubbie had the duck pasta (homemade noodles) and it was melt-in-your-mouth good. We ended our meal with a BC cheese plate with quince jelly and toasted bread.
The wine accompaniment was perfect.
Highly recommended and not to be missed
