“Very nice stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 3, 2010

Our room at the Holiday Inn was nice - very clean and modern. Carpets appear new and the bedspreads do as well. The TV is dated though and the hallways could use a paint job - perhaps that is in the works. The lobby and elevator could have been cleaner as well as the plexiglassed fencing around the pool.

The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The pool is an indoor/outdoor type which I enjoyed very much - clean facilities e.g. hot tub/change rooms/fitness room and clear pool water. There were plenty of towels as well.

Westbank is an expensive area so I would say the value was pretty good.

This hotel was nice enough and the location is convenient for exploring the wineries on the west side of Lake Okanagan. My biggest complaint is that it is not soundproof. You know it's bad when a door down the hall closes and your headboard rattles. It helps to have a room on the top floor (I know, because we changed rooms), otherwise you will hear everyone's footsteps overhead... particularly unwelcome if you have a family above you who gets up at 3:45 a.m. as we did.

We stayed here on a Saturday night. Arrived at 4pm and the check-in staff was both friendly and efficient. The room was quiet, no noise from neighbour rooms. They have a nice heated pool and outdoor hottub which was both hot and clean. We had prepaid on the website so checkout was fast and efficient.

Great location if you want to go to the wineries. Dont have to go all the way into Kelowna for the hotel. Has a nice restaurant downstairs. Pleasant staff at the front desk.

The hotel is very well placed to visit the wonderful winelands in this region or to go swimming in the lakes in the summer. It represents excellent value for money. It has a nice pool and fitness room. The adjacent restuarant has very resonable food and friendly staff.

We had provincial championships for our girl's volleyball team and there were 50 other teams staying in Kelowna so we opted for Westbank. The staff was very helpful and informative in giving directions to us out of towners. The rooms were nice and clean, comfy, with some appliances such as a fridge and microwave which made it easy to make and heat food.

Although we made room reservations for the team the hotel double booked the rooms and the parents of the team had to modify the accomidations. The hotel gave $20.00 breakfast vouchers for the restaurant at the hotel, Fogg and Sudds but the team. The next morning the team ate at the restaurant and the service was slow as the food came almost 1.5 hours late, not good for a large group.

Other than that the hotel was a nice, comfy stay and we all slept very well. The only downside was the parking as the lot gets full when the hotel is full

Stayed here for a night while visiting my grandparents in Westbank. The hotel is outside of Kelowna but it was right down the hill from their house, which is why I chose it. The staff were very friendly and the room was nice and clean with all the amenities I expected. When I checked in there was a member of a sports team checking in as well, which naturally worried me, but the hotel (and parents) appeared to keep a lid on things as I was never disturbed. The salt water pool was a nice relaxing treat, but careful on the outdoor pool deck as it does get icy (there's an outdoor jacuzzi).

Only issue I had was that I was booked on the bed & breakfast rate and wasn't given the breakfast voucher. Make sure to ask for it as it gets you $20 worth of food and drinks and often the price difference between that rate and the best available is less than that. We got the voucher issue sorted out without any hassle.

Tip: If you coming from Kelowna, take the Hebert Rd. exit and follow that. It loops around to the back of the hotel. If you stay on Hwy. 97, you have to make a left turn to loop back into Westbank proper, and you're left sitting at a yield sign where the traffic is coming at 100 km/h and there's low visibility. My poor 4-cylinder rental car wasn't meant for that kind of aggressive merging!
