We came to stay at Barnfield Farm as a last minute surprise - we were attending our friend's wedding at Broyle Place (200 yards down the road!) and were let down on our booked accommodation in Lewes (please see my other reviews for full explanation!)
Fortunately, when we were relaying our tragic story to our table at the wedding, another couple had booked at Barnfield Farm B&B but had decided (for personal reasons) that they would be driving home that evening and offered us their room (which saved us having to drive nearly 50miles home!). Ironically, I had tried to book at Barnfield Farm initially but unfortunately all the rooms were already booked for this weekend. I am very glad that our alternative accommodation had fallen through and we had met such generous people who allowed us to take theirs.
When we arrived late in the evening, we went straight to our room which was beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean. The bed was incredibly comfortable and we slept soundly all night until morning. We used the lovely walk in shower/wet room (great pressure!) before breakfast and enjoyed a nice cup of tea and biscuits which were provided.
The breakfast was delicious - freshly cooked, full english breakfast, complete with toast and tea and a selection of juices - the perfect hangover cure before the long drive home.
Thankfully the room was already paid for, and the proprietress was a little confused when my partner handed the keys back (as they were not expecting different guests to stay than the ones they checked in the previous day!). Even though our stay was short and sweet, we would definitely recommend this B&B to anyone and will certainly book here if we find ourselves in the area again.
We stayed in Room 1 - very quiet and a lovely view of the sheep and horses!
