We started with naxos salad (a Greek salad but with the typical fresh cheese of Naxos instead of feta), grilled octopus, steamed mussels and the best Taramosalada I ever had. Taramosalada is a cream made with fish eggs. Try it with toasted bread and some drops of lemon. The Taramosalada I usually have in Greece has a pink colour. This one was white and less salted. Definitely the best Taramosalada I ever had.
The salad was very good as all the salads I had in Naxos. Vegetables in Naxos are really tasty: and the flavour is more intense.
The steamed mussels were covered with too much sauce. I like them plain so I was a little bit disappointed to feel the flavour of mustard or something else in the sauce. It destroyed the taste of the seafood... What a pity.
But the main dish was stunning : grilled sardines. Fresh and tasty. To Much lemon and olive oil but it's not a big deal because it was row olive oil and you can pour it elsewhere. At the end they offered us a delicious cake with chocolate and wallnuts.
We paid 24 euro each one. Not cheap but absolutely honest. I will come back here!
