The staff were friendly but were let down by the state of the room. Beard trimmings on the sink, red/brown splashes and hairs by the sink and an even larger amount of hair trimmings dried into the shower tray (which I elected not to use). The toilet was disgusting with dried matter that was splashed on the underside of the toilet seat and down the front of the toilet. This was accompanied by the smell of drains when you used the sink. The taps were dirty and lime scaled as was the kettle.
I was also kept awake all night by musical plumbing and, like some other guests, the heat.
This was topped of by a phone call in the morning reminding not to be late for breakfast as they stop serving at 9.30 sharp! I think i can manage to get myself up thank you . I will be finding another £30 and staying at the Richmond Hill or some other such place that actually runs like a hotel next time.

We had a fabulous Sunday roast here! The food is excellent and the gravy would put any Southern belle to shame! The vegetables are fresh and cooked to perfection with no extra butter to muck up the flavor. On top of the superb food, the staff is exceptionally friendly and helpful! It's a great place for families, couples, or singles. Best value for money in Richmond.

I thought this was a good small hotel. There were plenty of rooms and it was surprisingly quiet. What made it was the owner, I think Peter Baxter & his wife. They were really good and helpful about local shops. They weren't too obtrusive but were making sure everything was OK. The Sunday roast was good.

I couldn't get a drink at the bar on one night but it didn't matter. it was sort of funny wine.

The wifi was a bit leary but I dont expect that to be great in a hotel.

I stayed here for a long weekend with my husband and child. After having looked everywhere for a child friendly place I was happy to find The Rose of York. The staff here are very nice and catered to all our needs. The food is lovely especially the Sunday Roast. Prices are very reasonable too considering the area you are in. Rooms are clean and they provide parking which in this part of town seems to be very rare. Its only a short walk into Richmond which has loads of shops, theatres and the station that brings you into Central London.
