This was just such an enjoyable place to have lunch. The servings were enormous, and there is huge variety. The place is decorated with old knick-knacks from throughout the decades. There's a lot of history, and you have time to contemplate what has gone on there for generations, including the highwater mark half way up the front door. Food is simple, but very tasty. Service friendly, but pretty slow - it was very busy - we were lucky to get a table. Upstairs is an art gallery, but I personally think that's underutilised - they sell photographs, but what I would have been interested in buying were reproductions of the photos and things on display downstairs in the tea room. Really recommend this place.
