We chose this hotel for the location as it was quite central to places we wanted to visit. On arrival, from the outside it was very pleasant and the views opposite were lovely.
However, this was nothing to the welcome we received. The hotel is run by a young couple who have recently refurbished the hotel. All the rooms were tasteful and spotlessy clean. They had such special little touches that I had only seen in higher rated hotels, such as in the 4 poster room we booked, champers, chocolates, robes and slippers.
On hearing of it being my hubby's 65th, they added extra touches at dinner to make it extra special for him.
The menu had plenty of choice and was cooked superbly.
All in all the hotel had a wonderful ambience which was created by the warmth and friendliness of the owners, Mary and Nelson and all of their staff.
We will be going back!

Having just returned from the meadowsweet after attending our nieces wedding, it was one of the nicest hotels we have ever stayed in.The room was beautiful overlooking the front of the hotel onto fields.

The food was excellent in the restaurant and on the day of the wedding. The staff and owners went out of their way to make sure you had everything you needed.

We ended up staying another night we liked it so much. We are hoping for another family celebration soon so we can return.

“Great accommodation for Snowdonia & Coast”

The Meadowsweet Hotel

I was very pleasantly surprised by this hotel! I booked it over the internet requesting a double room, however, as it was a bank holiday, all that was available was a twin. The hotel staff rang me up to make sure that I was OK with this and apologise for not having what I requested. In addition, she provided a gift to compensate. I thought that was a great thought as most places just hand you what is available.
I found the location of the hotel to be ideal. Although Llanrwst was pretty sleepy, it was a great base to quickly get to Snowdonia National Park, Conwy, Caernarfon and Llangollen. It beats Betws-y-Coed which was only 10mins away but is too packed with tourists in the peak season.
Breakfast was fantastic and made to order. The choices were varied and included omelette, full Welsh breakfast, pancakes and salmon.
Dinner was also good. We found it very reasonably priced and of excellent quality. It seems to be used not only by hotel guests but locals also.
This hotel is warm and comfy with lovely old features rather than a modern sleek finish. The only reason why this is not a 5 star for me was that we did not get the best rooms in the hotel which costs a little extra. Those rooms looked fantastic and we would definitely try to book early for those next time we are in the area.

The new proprietors of this hotel, a young family, have been making it better and better by the month. We've stayed here twice now and the improvements in interior design and comfort are tremendous. The refurbished bedrooms have every comfort and the restaurant and bar are the best you could expect in the area. There is an air of sophistication to this hotel, situated in an up and coming market town. Free WiFi is an added bonus.100% recommeded. Excellent value for money.

We were unsure what to expect as we had read on-line a few negative reviews of this hotel. We were absolutely delighted with our stay and regret that it was only for one night. Our room was delightfully furnished, the hosts most welcoming and the breakfast was absolutely wonderful. Would wholeheartedly recommend this hotel to anyone with the possible exception of those who would have trouble with stairs.
