“A little cold”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed December 19, 2012

I stayed at the Oakover one night to attend a funeral. It was in a convenient location. I booked before communicating with the family who all stayed at the Best Western Hotel. The room was comfortable and clean. Breakfast was very good. However, the heating did not go on until about 5pm and although I put my heater onto high, the thermostat must have been low because the room, located on the ground floor was not warm. In contrast the rest of the party all paid £10.00 less at the hotel and had to ask how to turn the radiators down, the rooms were so warm. If I stayed here again it would need to be in the summer months.

just come away from a weekend break. it is one of the best guest houses we have ever stayed in. the bedroom was spotless clean. it was amazing! so fresh and modern. impressive beverage tray. plenty of milk and teabags. nice to have bottled water in the room every day. also a mini fridge in the room which was handy. will be back soon.

Room Tip: room 3 is magnificent

We stayed here in March. The room was of a good size and very clean! The guest house has free parking although it is down a narrow lane so it is quite a squeeze for people in large cars. There was an information book in the room advising of local restaurants and attractions etc. This was useful as we weren't familiar with the area. The hotel is a short walk from the pier/shops. I fiund this perfect as the road was quiet. We will certainly consider here for our next trip to Weston!

Me and my partner had a lovely stay here and would recommend to anyone, everything you need in your room and a nice big bathroom. The bed was very comfortable slept like a log. Breakfast was of good quality with all you wanted.

Near perfect stay. The owner was very friendly and allowed us to park out jeep at the front of the building due to it being too big for the back car park. We visited for the t4 festival and was in an amazing spot, just round the corner. The bars ETC are just a short walk away. Only thing I wud sugest, was maybe more information on arrival about breakfast etc. But wud defo visit again.

Love it.

5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 10, 2012

My partner and I found the Oakover through TripAdvisor and were bowled away by the pictures - it's very rare to see such a beautiful, modern b&b without chintzy floral designs everywhere! We stayed in Room 3 with the beautiful feature bath in the bedroom and were not disappointed. The room was beautiful, clean, and full of added extras to make our trip a little more special. I loved the huge bath and fluffy towels. There is a heated towel rail by the bath meaning you can wrap yourself in a thick warm towel as soon as you come out the bath - bliss! The only niggle we had was the bed which was a little lumpy, and took a couple of nights to get used to. That being said, we were sleeping soundly by night three, and the pillows and quilt were extra snuggly!!

The ladies who welcomed us and served us breakfast in the morning were extremely polite and eager to please without being too imposing. They saw to it that we had everything we needed and were keen to offer more tea and coffee each morning with breakfast. Many other b&b's ask you to give your breakfast orders the previous night, but the Oakover would take your order in the morning and cook it fresh while you enjoy the cereals, fruit, yoghurts and juice that was on offer. Very scrumptious!!

As others have already said, the car park is a little tight so it would be advisable to check for spaces before squeezing down there. We had no problems but saw the scrapes on the wall from many a car before us.

Would definitely recommend the Oakover to anyone looking for modern, stylish accommodation within 10 mins walking distance to the Grand Pier and town.

Room Tip: Room 3 is beautiful, has romantic feature bath in room and was quiet despite being at front of house...
