“We didn't want to come home.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 18, 2013 for a stay in June 2013

This was our one holiday this year and we had high expectations of Glynn Barton. These were not disappointed.

From the moment you turn off the country road you feel like you are escaping from reality. The cottages are set on a hill side with stunning rural views. With an enclosed garden at the front of them the children (aged 18 months and 3 years) were instantly able to let off excess energy.

Bull Run is compact, but contained everything we needed. In particular the owners have taken care to think of things that make life just that little bit easier - washing up liquid, soap, dishwasher tablets, tea towels etc were all provided as was a starter kitchen roll and a blender (key items when you have a toddler/baby!!).

Both Tesco and Sainsburys delivered to site, but I wish I had ordered only the basics as the on site shop had a large selection of delicious Cook meals and baby food as well as eggs from Glynn Barton's chickens.

We were made to feel welcome immediately and shown around - washing machines (free to use), tractor ride on area, playground, indoor pool, playroom with enough toys and dvds to shame Toys-R-Us, trampoline, soft play and of course the animals. Every area was immaculate and clean (even by the animals!).

My only slight complaint was that the travel cot had not been put up. The owners have done this in the past to find that it is not in the right place. If you are arriving late then they do put it up and if you asked in advance then I know they would too.

Despite fantastic weather we did not go anywhere at the weekend - all of us were happy just to stay on site and none of us got bored! However, it is very easy to get to either the north or south coast and there are plenty of other places to get to within 20 - 30 minutes drive.

I had arranged 3 private swimming lessons for our eldest and these were a total success. She went from only ever having swum with floats to being able to swim a short distance by herself. She hated going on her back, but not any more. I cannot believe the difference in such a short space of time.

The owners both took particular care to make the children feel welcome and the daily animal feeds were a highlight (even in the rain that then took over). Our eldest cried when we had to leave.

If I could go back there tomorrow I would and so would the rest of the family.

“Toddler Holiday Heaven”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 4, 2013 for a stay in April 2013

Before we visited Glynn Barton it was hard to believe that a holiday with two toddlers (a 3 year old and an almost 2 year old) could be enjoyable and relaxing for all the family. Set amidst lush green Cornish countryside, Glynn Barton offers 8 immaculately clean and fully equipped self-catering cottages. Within one minutes walk there is an abundance of toddler activities including a ride-along area, indoor soft play with a ball pit and slide, an indoor heated swimming pool, a large Wendy house, a playground, tennis courts (with free equipment), a playroom full of toys, and a mini maze.
We were able to let our children choose where they wanted to play whilst we sat and enjoyed the views and the peace. With only 8 cottages and so much to do it never felt busy or crowded.
The owners, Steve and Shirley made us feel welcome, as if we were joining their family for the week. Each morning we were able to take part in the animal feeding, which the children loved. It was lovely to see my daughter grow in confidence with animals as the week progressed. Collecting the eggs was a highlight.
There are plenty of Cornish delights only a short drive from Glynn Barton, if you can convince your children to leave the play areas that is! Gorgeous beaches, The Eden Project, quintessential Cornish villages, and Bodmin and Wenford steam railway is only 5 minutes away.
I could go on and on singing Glynn Barton’s praises, but perhaps the best two compliments I can give is that within a week of returning we’ve booked to go again next year, and my husband (who likes to moan in depth about things that bother him) could not find a single thing to complain about. Praise indeed!! Thank you Glynn Barton for our first family holiday that actually felt like a holiday.

“We keep going back!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 27, 2013 for a stay in April 2013

We have been back to Glynn Barton 4 times but this was the first time we have stayed in The Bull Run. Previously we have stayed in The Tack Room with our little boy. Both are fitted out to a high standard but we decided to give ourselves a little more space this time. The accommodation is important for us as we spend alot of time at the cottage and they are a home away from home. More important are the wider facilities on offer at Glynn Barton. In the week we were there we went swimming at least once a day, rode on the ride ons daily and filled our time with the many other activities on offer. Some days we didn't leave the farm and that is what we love about Glynn Barton, we like to stop and enjoy time with our son. If we want to get out and about there are plenty of places to visit. We will go back.

“Stunning”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 29, 2013 for a stay in March 2013

I would highly recommend glynn barton for a relaxing family holiday in a stunning location.I have a 4 year old daughter and she loved every minute of it. It is the only place we have ever stayed that delivers on everything it claims on its website,so many times have I been on holidays that claim to be family friendly and have been disappointed.the owners make you feel at home and its obvious they love children as they are so good and patient with them.the location is excellant for exploring cornwall and the cottages are stunning and well kept as is the other facilities on site, swimming pool and childrens play areas of which there are a few.Theres plenty to do on site to keep the little ones entertained even if the weather is bad and my daughter loved the animal feeding and egg collecting each morning.we have booked to go back again next year.

“Glynn Barton Great break with children”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 14, 2013 for a stay in March 2013

I highly recommend Glynn Barton Cottages. Combining the stunning local area, with modernised cottages in keeping within the traditional farm buildings, the swimming lessons, soft play and animal feeding during the working week, and this is a great place to go on holiday. Our toddler loved playing in the designated areas and went swimming each morning. Steve and Shirley understand children and are excellent with them, even giving our son a certificate for animal feeding and egg collecting at the end of our dtsy.

The location of the farm is close to the A30, meaning there is lots to do within 30 mins to an hour's drive.

We had a great time
Matt
