“Never met a friendlier B&B proprietor!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 14, 2010

We stayed 3 nights in July for a local wedding and had such a great time at Harrop Fold Farm that I wish we could have stayed another week! Sue and her family were so warm, funny, witty, and accomodating. Breakfast was delicious and plenty and our 4 course dinner equally delicious. Rooms are nicely appointed - a bit of "posh" in the countryside. Views are amazing and relaxing. Would be an idyllic romantic weekend getaway. Recommended wholeheartedly!

I stayed a Harrop Fold Farm for 3 days in June, during a business trip in Macclesfiled and it's definitley got the edge on anywhere else! The farm itself is absolutely beautiful, with chickens and Shetland pony on the doorstep. The room offered a stylish and luxurious fusion of traditional charm and contemporary chic, with enormous bathtub and monster bed! They offer the best room manual I've ever seen...the virtual tour of the panoramic countryside view (picking out Roman road, Bonnie Prince Charlie's stop-off point, barrows, medieval enclosure ditches and wildlife locations was fantastic and kept me cheerfully occupied for most the first night! Little extras such as toiletries and homemade apple juice in the rooms also make this B & B really special...I'd love to return for a weekend break! The welcome is very warm and the breakfast is superb...I could eat a bucket of Sue's granola, yogurt and fresh honey! All food is locally sourced and the produce was absolutely delicious! I look forward to returning next year, if not before! Many thanks Harrop Fold Farm!

We stayed here for two great nights, having found it through the Guardian website.

The family were welcoming and keen to help in any way they could. We stayed in the Valley View room which was gorgeous, the views through the windows were like a scene from a postcard. Wonderful.

Breakfast was fantastic, freshly served with a smiling face and with plenty to choose from, prepared fresh from local foods. Fresh flowers in the dining room, classical music playing and light and homey surroundings made a great way to start the day.

If you are looking to take a walk, be sure to get a map. The surrounding area is gorgeous and well worth investigation.

I can't say enough good things about the location, accommodation and host family. Fantastic

Unless you've stayed here you couldn't appreciate what a wonderful experience you're missing.
The surroundings are idyllic, the rooms beautiful and Sue and Dave's hospitality made our stay here an absolute delight . They make you feel like very special guests. This was our third visit and as always we didn't want to leave!
If you're planning a walk, try the stroll down the woods and pathways to Bollington, takes about 30 - 40 minutes and the Poachers Inn does great food. In fact if you're planning a walk take the springer with you, she'll love it!

Harrop Fold Farm was recommended in The Independent '50 best b & b's' It was absolutely brilliant. A farm house with a touch of class.
Welcomed by Sue and her dogs and treated to home make cakes and a drink.
There was home made fruit drinks/chocolates in our room, wide variety of tea/coffee.
We had Molton Brown bath products and dressing gowns.
As much as possible was home made and local produce for our breakfast.
Nothing was too much trouble.
Lots of information and literature to encourage you to explore the surrounding area.
Wide variety of restaurants in surrounding villages.
Thank you

Having seen Harrop Fold Farm advertised recently in the national press, we decided on visiting for a 'romantic escape from it all' stay. We could not have hoped for a warmer welcome - a beautiful bedroom, the most delicious home cooked food, and breathtaking views over Cheshire. We cannot wait to return to sample more of the Harrop Fold experience and Sue's own yummy lemon curd!
