Set in a very quaint and pretty location facing Bollington Green - a true gem!
Upon arrival we were given little jars of olives and a bowl of popcorn which we thought was a very sweet touch. We also were given complementary warm onion bread rolls which were absolutely divine.
All 5 of us loved our meals - our Mum (who dines out a lot and isn't easily wowed) made a noise with a nod of the head when she put her first scallop in her mouth that meant she was most certainly very pleased!! She said they were beautifully cooked. I had the chicken, black pudding, and cheddar spring roll to start - enjoyably different with beautiful flavours.
The mains were just as wonderful, Dad and sisters loved the steak, and my chicken fell off the bone and was cooked to perfection.
Deserts were yummy and there were some interesting ice cream flavours, such as amaretto flavour and black treacle flavour, served with other deserts which we asked if we could try - the waitress (who was very friendly and smiley) brought us a large scoop of each of the flavours we wanted to try, it was no trouble at all.
Good coffees rounded off a lovely evening.
Considering the quality of the food, nice extra touches, and great service we all thought it was excellent value for money and we will definitely be returning to The Oliver!
