“A nice pub with quite nice food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 30, 2012

We go here quite often and it is usually very good... It does have its moments though when it's a bit slow and the staff are a bit forgetful... All in all, recommended. We have thought about a "BRING BACK THE RASPBERRY TRIFLES IN THE LITTLE KILNER JARS" campaign as they were excellent excellent puddings but have failed to make a menu appearence for ages and ages.

“Home From Home - comfortable and impressive”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 29, 2012

whilst looking for a place to eat with my wife and family, eight of us in tow, decided to try the Cock and Pheasant in bollington.
Happy - isnt the word! Ecstatic probably is! a great traditional public house, with a modern yet homely feel, coupled with a range of traditional cask ales, which suited the dads in the party!
food was fresh and delivered in double quick time, even though the place was quite full. our waitress was all smiles and i even got chatting to the landlord (i think he was anyway) who was quite happy to entertain our love of cask - telling us the whats and whereabouts about the range he had on. very charming and entertaining.
personally off the menu, i cant recommend the pie trio enough, really well presented and piping hot!
its good to know that some landlords care about customers, the whole experience was really very good and i think as a family we have found our new 'meeting place' when visiting my wifes parents. we have tried a lot of other pubs and bars in the area, but i think this is the best place locally and we have found our home from home!

“Forgotten guests”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed November 6, 2012

We went on a saturday night, after having visited the week before for sunday lunch. Pub was busy but not too busy. Waited over an hour for food, when we asked the manager he said you can't possible have waited that long... to his surpise when he checked we had. the food arrived, obviously microewaved to damnation ... .it was vile .... the manager offered us a pudding but to be honest it was so awful we left without finishing the awful food. we have not been since and would not go again in a hurry. it is expensive and to be honest the two for one RISING SUN in macclesfield is a far better bet !

“Suprisingly Good”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 11, 2012

At first I thought this was going to be a bit of chain style place, but it was just really good fresh tasting food at a really reasonable price in a classic pub style environment. That, the beer and the footy on the tele makes a great venue.
