My wife and I have been going to Balti Kitchen for over five years now and this is by far and away our favourite Indian restaurant in Macclesfield. We went through a phase of trying other Indians in the town a few years ago but in terms of the consistency of the food and the service they trail behind Balti Kitchen, in our opinion.
We frequently get take-aways from here but would urge anyone to dine properly in the restaurant - the food is always excellent, the wine surprisingly good and the staff go out of their way to please you - nothing is too much trouble for them and they genuinely value your custom. The Sunday special menu is superb value at under a tenner and they don't skimp on value our portion size. If it wasn't for the fact that we have three young children we'd dine in the Balti Kitchen far more regularly.
The surroundings maybe small but the restaurant is always full and has many regulars which makes for a good atmosphere. It can get congested on a weekend with people waiting to collect takeaways, however.
We have tried several dishes (chicken tikka, jalfrezi, lamb rogan josh, chicken kashmiri, exotica massala) and they've always been cooked to a high and consistent standard, so much so that I don't feel compelled to "play safe" and stick to a particular favourite dish each time I go. The flavours are excellent and never too "spicy" though veteran curry go-ers may prefer the "hotter" dishes to be even spicier (which I'm sure the chefs would be happy to oblige).
In short, we've always enjoyed excellent meals here, the value is superb and the waiters (of which they have many) always look after you and are very well mannered. My family has booked to go to Balti Kitchen for Christmas Day this year (we just fancy a change) and have been told we can have "bhajis" for starters and traditional turkey for dinner if we so desire which typifies the restaurant's eagerness to please their customers :-)
