If you like your breakfast in the morning then this is a good place to stay. If you are vegetarian or have a food allergy then this is the place for you to stay whilst in Bangor. You get a choice of what you want for breakfast, from the menu, whether it is just cereal, and/or an omelette, or a fry up, you won't need to eat anything after that until lunch anyway. The Shelleven is a few minutes walk from the town centre (including the railway/ bus station) so is not difficult to get to. It overlooks the bay. I've stayed there a few times. It's well worth a visit.

I can only say that in the course of my business I stay in many places from the humble to the grand but these days I have to look for value without comprimising quality - not easy at the best of times!
However, the Shelleven Guest House manages to offer an experience far better than many places with more stars than the Galaxy yet still manages to charges prices akin to the smallest and not always happy, hotels. The rooms are great and the food is exceptional; the proprietors are so professional and that is the one word that really sums up Shelleven - "professional"
