“Excellent in every way”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 11, 2012

Excellent! Our stay in the hotel was just as good as described in TripAdvisor reviews that used terms like "excellent" and "highly recommended". The staff were outstanding: friendly, competent, interested in their work and in their guests. Our bedroom was very comfortable and the food was really nice. The hotel is a modern building that is set in peaceful countryside near Bangor. During our stay the atmosphere was was restful, but not too quiet - just the right balance! The location was ideal for our purposes: a walk along the sea shore in nearby Crawfordsburn Country Park; an easy-to-do visit to Belfast; a leisurely drive on the Ards Peninsula, stopping at lovely Portaferry, Kearney Village, Greyabbey and Mount Stewart. We stayed as part of a special short-stay offer that was on the hotel's website, which was excellent value for money.

My husband and I stayed here for a long wk end with our 6wk old baby. On arrival and throughout the whole duration of our stay we cannot praise the staff enough on how attentive they were to our needs. Right from the start they assisted us to the room with all our luggage, offered to bring us lunch to the room to so as we could relax with the baby after our long journey, stored babys milk in the fridge for us and brought it to the room at all hours if the night in accordance with the baby's feeding pattern. They would set any table we desired in the restaurant to allow us to sit comfortably with the pram whilst had supper/breakfast. The rooms were immaculately clean and a good size allowing plenty of room for all the stuff we had brought. The food in the restaurant was excellent, we were there for a wedding which was catered for beautifully by clandeboye. We have travelled the world and been privileged to stay in many luxurious 5 star hotels, but there has never been one that matched the service received by the staff at the clandeboye. Simply outstanding! Would definitely recommend.

This hotel was ideal for our weekend retreat with my mum and sisters. Very close to Belfast and easy to get to. Nearby Bangor town very close by too. The staff were extremely welcoming and warm. Nothing was too much trouble. Rooms were comfortable and the toilettres lovely. The welcome drink on arrival of Irish Coffee was a nice touch. The food for breakfast, lunch and dinner was of a high standard and presented very well and with lots if care. Will definitely be returning again!

just had a weekend break for two nights for our wedding anniversary. The hotel was very comfortable, the rooms clean and well equipped for a relaxing stay. The reception staff where able to arrange a very nice bouquet of flowers to be left in the room for my wife which was a nice touch. All the staff where professional, polite and helpful. We had an evening meal on our second night which was first class, as was the breakfast, plenty of choice and the cooked food was excellent. We will look to stay here in the future and also recommend to friends and family.

We stayed at this hotel for three nights mid week,it is a great hotel for relaxing as my fiance and i just needed a break to unwind, couldn't have picked a better hotel as it was quiet and tranquil, the
staff are friendly and helpful, rooms are a good size and nicely decorated,we had breakfast and evening meals during our stay which were lovely especially breakfast i have stayed in a lot of hotels and their breakfast has to be one of the best :)
The hotel is about 10 mins drive from the centre of bangor so it's not to far if you want to explore the town.Crawfordsburn park is worth a visit as there is beautiful walks and also the beach it's nice for a relaxing day out and is only about 15-20 mins drive away from the hotel.

My son and our new daughter in law held their reception at Clandeboye Lodge Hotel. From the initial stages of booking etc they were impressed with the professionalism and helpfulness of the staff involved. Beautiful location, check in swift and hassle free. All staff courteous and friendly. Meal first class - even though we had to delay as timings were running behind schedule - wedding party's fault - not the Hotel's. Christopher, with overall responsibility for the event, was unflappable, remaining courteous and totally professional even when missing guests threatened to impose even further delay with meal! Most guests stayed at Hotel overnight. Bridal suite exceptional; our room very comfortable and clean. Breakfast next morning very good. Never heard any adverse comment about any aspect of Hotel's facilities or sevice from any wedding guest. Sorry to leave when we had to go home. No hesitation in recommending Clandeboye Lodge. Hope to go back for a mini break in the not too distant future.

We stayed for two nights at the end of September during a trip around Northern Ireland. We were on a deal with B&B and a meal on one night. We stayed in an executive room and it was excellent with large bed and bathroom. There was a good selection at breakfast with fruit, cereals, cooked Irish breakfast and toast etc all cooked and presented to perfection. Our evening meal was excellent. The staff were all very friendly and helpful and went out of their way to help us. The hotel is about 12 miles from Belfast and a few miles from Bangor.
