“Great food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 24, 2013

I eat in the Jamaica Inn regularly and have never been disappointed. The service is efficient & friendly, and the food is always delicious. the standard menu has a wide variety of food and this is complemented by 3 or 4 specials. Recommended.

“Wow! I wasn't expecting that!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 22, 2013

I went here at lunchtime on a Monday for a quick 'bar snack' and was amazed at the quality of the meal. Everything was beautifully presented and really tasty. My husband had the steak sandwich which came just as he oredered it - medium rare. So many other places just get it wrong. I had the cod which was served with gorgeous potatoes and came on a lovely rectangle plate with balsamic reduction. Thee's a lovely open fire and the atmosphere was cosy and friendly. I'm heading back again tonight with friends!

“Good service, Good food, the right prices.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 28, 2013

Been here a few times since moving to Bangor 6 years ago. Been for all kinds occasions too, food and drinks, just drinks, cosy meal for 2, meal with wife & kids, meal with friends and I had both my sons christening meals there with close family. On all visits the service was faultless both bar and waitress/waiter (food) can’t even fault them on the occasions they were busy.
Thing I like, no love about this place is it sells food for what it’s worth, what I mean by this is I’ve been to some “gastro pubs” who think they are Michelin starred and charge the earth for a dish that ok at best. Here you’ll find specials for between £12-£20 and menu items being £3-£4 for starters and then £6-£15 for mains. Kids meals are £3.95 and it is a meal, don’t you love it when you order a kids meal to find it has a single sausage and about 10 beans on the plate! ok for a 2 yr old I guess but no good for any older children. Best bit about eating there with kids, they eat free Monday- Thursday (I think that’s right).

So good service, good food and the right prices you CANNOT go wrong with this place – in fact I’m wondering what I don’t go more often!

“Great food, great child friendly, interested staff and owner”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 27, 2013

Looks ok outside, but inside warm, welcoming and well laid out, cosy but not cramped, perfect personal space for dining. The food was exceptionally good - must try the haddock and egg, Michelin star stuff.
