My husband and I and our four year old son stayed in the Crows Nest at the Lookout in mid August. We had a fabulous time! The accommodation was excellent and finished to a very high spec. The apartment was spotlessly clean and well stocked with beautiful bathroom toiletries and milk in the fridge. We always found the apartment calm and comfortable. We loved having breakfast at the breakfast bar, which overlooked the estuary, I could have sat in the window for hours, the views are simply gorgeous. And our four year old loved his 'den', he stayed in there for ages when we first arrived, thought it was great! There was a shop just down the road which made it easy for us self catering. We found a lovely restaurant - Pharoahs, again very close to the Lookout Apartments, which was great for us as a family. Aberdovey is simply delightful in itself and the beach was just great.

All in all, with such great owners, you really can't go wrong staying at The Lookout. We wouldn't stay anywhere else now and would recommend time and time again.

Myself, my husband and two small boys recently stayed in the upper deck apartment. The welcome we recieved from both jules and Lisa was very warm and accommodating. Nothing too much trouble !! The apartment itself was exceptionally clean and very well furnished - and more than covered all of our needs. The breathtaking view would be lovely at all times of the year. We were recommended by my parents and will strongly recommended to our friends. Can't wait to return.

Stunning views, perfect location and the most helpful owners made our stay at Aberdovey the best it could be.

We stayed in 'The Upper Deck' which was absolutely amazing, being recently refurbished it was so fresh and clean. The decor matched the surrounding beauty of such a cute picturesque town.
The beach is on your doorstep and behind you is Snowdonia national park making sure there is plenty to do no matter how long your stay.
The owners were super efficient and made us feel so welcome. They showed us where all the best walks were and all the local hidden gems. They even lent us there kiddie backpack and crabbing gear and not to mention all the beach tools to keep our little one happy.
We would highly recommend staying at 'The Lookout' no matter what time of the year as there is always something to see and do :)

Room Tip: I took a peek at all of them and they all looked as good as each other with the same stunning views

My family and I (husband, son and stepson), stayed in the Crows Nest on the 7th August 2012 for 3 nights. We had never been to Aberdovey or the Lookout, but was extremely impressed by both places! The Crows Nest is on the top floor of 3 apartments, which overlook the beach, and what a stunning view! Even the children were impressed and loved to sit at the breakfast bar overlooking the estuary. You couldn't have asked for more. The apartment is clean, up to date and all the facilities you need. Even down to having milk in the fridge when we arrived from a long drive. The children loved the den as a bedroom, and Jules, who owns the apartments was friendly, fun loving and ready to help with anything you needed. Aberdovey itself, is a beautiful place to go with plenty to see and do. The beach is stunning, and never seems to get very busy. We still had plenty of room to play cricket on the beach! Crabing is fun on the harbour pier, and down the road from the apartments is a very nice putting green, bowls green and tennis courts, which are all very reasonably priced. The Tallyn Railway was lovely, and King Arthur's Labyrinth was extremely interesting and enjoyable. We were only in Aberdovey for a few days, but had a thoroughly enjoyable break. We will definitely be returning, both to Aberdovey as a place and to the Lookout for such a stunning place to stay.

I have just returned from a 3 day break at the lookout with relatives and can honestly say it has been the best seaside experience i have ever had!
The lookout has 3 apartments on a self catering basis and are all finished to a very high standard.
Due to the location all apartments have a front line view that captures your imagination of childhood times spent at the beach. The sea was blue and inviting and the seagulls call everpresent.
The beach was only meters away and we spent many an hour sitting in the apartments just watching the many activities taking place and enjoying cocktails as we gazed.
Sailing, rowing, dog walking, fishing or just building sandcastles, the list was endless to suit all ages.
If you prefer a less strenious holiday, you can always enjoy the traditional fish and chips by the sea or fine dine at the locally recommended penhelig arms hotel, where you could smell the sea its so close, and only a short walk from the lookout. I had the monkfish and crab risotto, best ever.
The lookout was also an excellent base to explore the many other areas of cardigan bay and we explored as far as new quay to watch wild dolphins and aberaeron where we had excellent seafood at a cafe called Hive on the Quay.
Overall this break was a truly fantastic seaside experience which i thank the lookout owners Lisa and Jules for and hope to return some time soon.

We first stayed at The Lookout last summer (2011) and as soon as we got home we booked again for two 4 night stays, July and August 2012. Jules and Lisa made us feel so welcome, nothing was too much trouble. The apartment was spotless, welcoming and set up just like a home from home, including travel cot and high chair which were free of charge. The views were breath taking, great value for money, perfect set up of the room an a truly enjoyable break. We are already discussing plans to return again next year, and we cant wait!

Room Tip: If you like great views book the Crows Nest!!!
