First of all - can I reassure everyone, the Medina is not closed down - it is just closed on Thursdays in the quieter seasons!!
It is slightly tucked away down a little alley just by the pedestrian crossing but well worth seeking out. There is a courtyard area surrounded by dramatic steep cliff walls where you can sit outside in nice weather while the cafe inside is warm and cosy with lovely, friendly staff.
We have just returned from a short break in Aberdovey and enjoyed two lovely afternoons at the Medina. There is an extensive menu offering soup, sandwiches, breakfasts, panninis etc. and there is a lovely display of cakes - but both days we had the afternoon tea for two - an absolute bargain at £6.25 with a big pot of tea and the best homemade scones I've ever tasted with generous helpings of butter, jam and clotted cream, more than we could use (although we did try out best!). For the more hungry tourist, I noticed an offer of homemade soup and a toasted sandwich for £4.95 which also seemed very good value.
We really enjoyed our afternoons there and would happily recommend any holiday-makers in Aberdovey to pay it a visit - but if you want to go on Thursday, you'll have to wait till Summer comes!
