I stayed at Altonlea Lodge for 7 nights and it was brilliant. Lee was very welcoming and straight away you were put at ease and made to feel like one of the family. I stayed in room 4 which with it's King size bed and en suite was very homely. Breakfast time starts early which is ideal, and you are made to feel that nothing is too much trouble! Both Lee and Olwen are very helpful with any question and queries and are always there for you. The rooms are Kept very clean as is the rest of the hotel! There are an abundance of various restaurants and eateries along the sea front so you are spoilt for choice! If you are ever going to be in the area I would highly recommend that you book a room. The experience was SUPERB!!

Just returned from Altonlea and felt I should write a review it was so good. It is spotlessly clean, well situated with secure parking, and the family are very friendly. The kingsize bed is the best we have slept in and the room well equipped with wifi included. Superb breakfasts with plenty of choice, I went for full English every day and it kept me going for ages. We will stay here again on our next trip to see family close by.

I stayed at Altonlea which is in a cul-de-sac facing the north sea, for 2 nights. I was made to feel very welcome by Lee who runs the place along with his Mum Olwen the facilities were spotless and comfortable and the breakfast was excellent. I would have no hesitation in recommending this little gem.

This is a gem of a guesthouse. They have such a perfect sense of guest relations mentality, it creates an exceptionally rare experience for the visitors. I will spare you all the details and just say this: This is a family owned hotel and they take care of you in a way only your family would do.

My Mum and Dad stayed at Altonlea Lodge whenever they went back to their old home town of Hartlepool over a period of 30 years. They always gave great reports of their stay. It became like staying with friends. Recently I stayed when I visited the North East. The welcome I got was wonderful. Whenever I visit the North East again there will be no question of staying anywhere else. Very nice room, wonderfully soft and comfortable bed - Hats off to Olwen, Toni and especially Lee. Bravo!!

Room Tip: A room with a view of the sea meant something special for me and I got what I wanted. Spot on.

This is an excellent B&B. We have been looking for a decent place to stay in Hartlepool for 11 years and have finally found one. Exemplary in all aspects and very friendly. We have no criticisms of this establishment

We stayed at Altonlea Lodge for 3 nights while I was in the UK for surgery and I cannot rate the service highly enough. Spotless, newly decorated ensuite room with a big comfortable bed and LCD TV. Breakfast was delicious and each morning we were asked if there was anything else that we would like. Olwen, Lee and Tony treated us like they had known us for years and it was more like staying with family than staying in a guest house. Well done guys, we will be returning.
