we have just returned from a 5 day holidaay at this hotel and from the moment we arrived we could noy have been better looked after. The staff were friendly and efficient, the food was excellent and there was a varied menu to suit all tastes. The entertainment was not as good as we had hoped but this did not spoil our stay.

Room Tip: We were on the front of the hotel overlooking main road but we were not disturbed by traffic noise.

Had a 4 night stay at the end of Feb on a coach trip, a lovely family hotel with friendly, helpful staff who even made me something different in the evening when I didn't like what was on the menu (I'm very fussy). Would def stay again.

Stayed one night at the Auckland. Very pleasant experience, the hotel was warm, comfortable, welcoming, and spotless. Breakfast (freshly cooked) was very good , and, the most important aspect of any hotel, the staff were all pleasant, friendly, and helpful. My room had a stunning view across Morecambe Bay to the snow-capped hills beyond. Very good value for money, and I would not hesitate to stay there again.

Room Tip: Ask for a sea-view room.

3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 30, 2012

Having reviewed several hotels in the past the hotel is properly better than many we have visited on coach breaks, but still has a few shortcomings.
Good Points - Very clean throughout, home cooked style catering with adequate portions, staff very eager to please, only a few minutes along the promenade to town center.
Bad Points - Tables in restaurant are very small to share with other guests you may not know. Our bedroom did not have a vanity glass over the dressing table and it was necessary to use a full length mirror on another wall of room. Although the decor of the hotel is well maintained it is rather dated by today's standards. We had a faulty hot water tap in the bathroom, useable but it took three days to be repaired after reporting to reception
Would we stay at this Hotel again if in the area - probably yes.

Room Tip: Best to ask to ask for a front facing room

Dear Bryan

Thank you for taking the time to write a review of our hotel. I am happy to hear that you were pleased with the cleanliness of the hotel, the food and the staff. All of the staff work very hard to ensure that these high standards are maintained.

We are sorry that you felt the dining room tables were too small to share with other guests. The hotel does ask that the guests share tables as we find it creates more of a friendly atmosphere and it also means we can fit everybody into the dining room at once.
We would like to thank you for bringing it to our attention about your room not having a vanity glass over the dressing table. Our maintenance team have been round the hotel and ensured that there is a vanity mirror in every bedroom where it is possible.

We are constantly updating the hotels decor and most of our guests understand it is an ongoing job as tastes are always changing. We have recently made a large investment in building seven brand new ground floor rooms, increasing the size of the dining room and building a new bar.

I would like to thank you again for your comments and hope to see you again in the future.

Kind Regards
Laura Wood
