I have stayed at this hotel regularly since (c) 1997, and have never been so happy with it. Caroline has transformed it, and still is in the process of doing more to the building. Nothing is too much trouble for her if you ask, and I have yet to stay in a hotel where the owner is so friendly. I'd rather have it as it is now with fewer rooms, mostly ensuite, than before with 11 rooms and only two showers to be shared by everyone! The hotel is friendly, very relaxed and Caroline has the warm and friendly personality you need from someone when on holiday. The cost of a stay here is also fantastic value for money, compared to some hotels etc I've stayed in whilst in Morecambe, or anywhere.

I stayed here for 2 nights as was in Morcambe on business, i was so impressed with the quality of the room it was spotless and the size was fantastic. I couldnt believe that the guest house had both a shower and a spa bath which i must say was fantastic and something i looked forward to after work! The lady who ran the hotel was very welcoming. I have stayed in Morcambe twice befor however now i have found this guest house it will definatly be my first choice. HIGHLY RECCOMENDED if you like big comfortable beds and a plasma on the wall. I have also reccomended clients of mine here.

This Guest House is advertised as 4 star. I would rate it as a substandard grubby 2 star. The room we were shown to was at the back of the building on the top floor. The walk up the stairs should have prepeared us for what was to come, dirty stair carpet with grubby paint work and walls. The room at first glance seemed not too bad but on closer inspection things soon changed. The carpet had not been hoovered from the previous occupants, the window cills had collected their fair share of dust, the bedside cabinet contained a part eaten packet of crisps, the keep for the Yale Lock on the bedroom door was held in place by silicone sealant, the door from the bedroom to the bathroom had been pinched from bedroom 6 as the number was still attached to the part painted door, the door would not shut or lock and could only be pushed too as there was no keep chopped into the door case, the bath had a film of scum and was full of hairs. In general the bedroom, bathroom and the dining room where breakfast was served was grubby, tacky, dirty and out dated. If you HAVE to go to Morecambe avoid The Morecambe Bay Guest House, with its 4 stars.

I chose an AA 4* sure that it would be good or better - unfortunately it was only 'average'. The bathroom and room carpets were not well cleaned and there were a number of hairs in the shower tray! there were no 'smellies' available, although we did find a used bar of soap left by a previous guest. One set of clean but old and small towels between two of us, an uncovered chipboard table, no shaver point, no biscuits or teaspoons on the tea tray, no choice of breadfast and no choice of breakfast time.
The furniture in general was good quality, as was the carpet. The tv was a challenge to work!
Not really a 4* experience.
