Pickering is situated on a crossroads on the edge of the North Yorkshire Moors National Park which gives quick easy access to both the moors and the Yorkshire coastal resorts. We took full advantage of this with walks on the moors, delightful lunches in wonderful old village inns, and a day in Scarborough. Back at No 9 Aylwin and Liz looked after us as though we were long lost friends. Tea and coffee were served as soon as we arrived, lots of tips and guidance on what to see and do, full mini-bar available, and the en-suite room was spacious, clean and comfortable. The room was very quiet on a night, which is an absolute must for me, and the No 9 breakfast was a feast, with 9 different items overflowing the plate. I went for that and my wife chose something less substantial.
We'll definitely be back, and this time we want to ride on the North Yorkshire Moors Railway to "Heartbeat Country" and Whitby. The station is only a few minutes walk from the B&B so no driving!
