“Lovely hotel with own fantastic brewery on site”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 19, 2013

We had booked a weekend break with Red Letter Day with included an overnight stay, dinner bed & breakfast and a brewery tour on the afternoon. We were surprised to see that many people attending the brewery tour and our guide told us a recent Groupon deal seemed to be very popular. The whole group was in a good mood and a lot of them like ourselves stayed over. The tour was interesting and of course the Cropton Inn beer was very yummy. We tried a few and also took some home. Our dinner deal was very generous as well as we were told we could have anything we wanted from the a la carte menu, no restrictions and the food was very good and very tasty as well. After dinner we retired to the bar which was buzzing and had a really lovely cozy atmosphere. We sampled a few more beers (but I have to admit to being on half pints by then) and retired by 11pm. Breakfast the next day was very good too and everyone in the hotel was very friendly and welcoming, truly Yorkshire hospitality.
I would definitely recommend a visit, you will not be disappointed.

We stayed at this cosy Inn for a 6-day break to do some dog walking and enjoy some pampering with excellent food and beer before winter truly starts. We totally relaxed in the cottage suite which was warm and comfortable with good facilities. All the meals were delicious and beer from the micro brewery much appreciated. The staff were always friendly and helpful. This was our second stay and we hope to stay again in 2014.

Beautiful scenery on the doorstep and good selection of shops and market at Pickering.

Had a lovely one night stay at this quaint little Inn! We went courtesy of my girlfriend buying me a brewery tour for my birthday via Red Letter days. We checked in with no problem at all and where shown to our good size room. Unique, clean and perfectly adequate for the night, en-suite (could have done with a shower as well as a bath however) and a very comfortable bed!

The brewery tour was excellent, the guide was very informative, funny and overall I learnt a large amount about a drink I like so much in an hour, free samples where included and the gift pack was a nice touch I wasn't expecting.

The restaurant had a good menu, nothing crazy but solid village pub favourites that went down a treat and the vibrant and busy pub had a great range of ales to work through, as you would expect with a micro-brewery a few feet from the back door.

Not knowing how much my better half had paid for this whole package I had to ask her, and was amazed at the value for money, as well as the excellent service, we had both received!

Had a Friday night stay here courtesy of red letter days. It was a super break and was great value for money. We was upgraded to the cottage suite on arrival which was not expected but very welcome. They have a micro brewery and we went on the brewery trip which we thoroughly enjoyed especially the free beer tickets. We had a three course meal in the restaurant and the service and food was second to none. The staff all around the place were a credit with nothing too much trouble. Breakfast the following morning was great plenty of choice and cooked to order. To top the trip off a gift was given on leaving of two bottles of beer from the brewery! Ps the beer is fantastic. Would defo come back again.

My boyfriend and I came here to celebrate our anniversary and had a brilliant weekend. The staff were fantastic and always happy to help. Food was delicious and the beer even better resulting in both of us turning into beer drinkers. Would definitely recommend and will be visiting again soon!

Average seems a bit harsh so they get 'very good' in the absence of anything in between.

Stayed for 1 night after a walk across t'Moors following a tip off about the excellent beer selection. Of the bar and the beer I can find no fault but the room was a touch overpriced given that, as others have noted, the shower and loo were basically in cupboards. Excellent use of space, I grant you.

Folk at the bar very positive about the food and the mains looked impressive; my starter and cheese board okay. Brekkie a little underwhelming if I'm honest.

All the staff very keen and able but a bit stretched at times running the bar, sorting rooms, AND taking bookings for the brewery tour.

This place seems to have some very mixed reviews which based on our experience is very surprising. We were driving past the New Inn looking for a place to have Sunday lunch and decided to take a chance although we had never even heard of it. We are so pleased that we did because it is a wonderful place with so many good points it would take me a long time to cover everything but let me try to summarise. Inside is a lovely traditional English pub but outside there is a lovely garden area with picnic benches if you want eat outdoors. The welcome was very friendly and they were accommodating when we wanted to have a slight variation on the menu to suit my veggie wife. The food was of a very high quality with loads of fresh vegetables, really delicious.
To top it all they have their own micro brewery and a real ale fan I can say that the beer was some of the best have ever tasted and my wife says the lager was outstanding.
The village is a little off the beaten track but the place was very busy which means it must be worth a trip if you are anywhere close, I know we will be back and we are 80 mile away!
