“Clean,comfortable,lovely and quiet”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 20, 2009

We have just returned from two nights at "Rains Farm Holidays".
Our welcome was very warn and friendly, nothing seemed too much trouble for the owners. The bedrooms were spotless ( we were given the choice) and all were fully equipped to a high standard, even down to a Raines chocolate to help us enjoy a lovely nights sleep. Breakfast was to a very high standard also with a large selection of food to choose from. Being in the food trade we noted that the quailty of the food was excellent. We shall hope to return again to enjoy the experience. The accomodation was So---------so quiet

Rains Farm had been recomended to me on several occasions yet I have always stayed in other accomodation in the area. After this visit it feels as though the other holidays were missing something special. Rains Farm is just brilliant and I will return again. Take the recomendation........................I wish I had in the past.

We have been going to Rains Farm for about 11 years now and it really is a little gem of a place. I came across the Farm on the internet as a pure fluke but boy am I glad!

Its location is Allerston which is a lovely little village not too far from the market town of Pickering (nice selection of shops and a supermarket should you need one). The North Yorkshire Moors Railway sits in Pickering too and you can take a lovely trip up to Goathland from there (Location of the Heartbeat Tv Programme).

The accommodation is first class - Comfortable, Clean and I really cannot find any fault with any aspects of it! You can park right outside the cottages and the outlook across the farm and further is wonderful (it also helps that each cottage has a full length window in the living area!)

The family that run Rains Farm are friendly and very very helpful so what are you waiting for? Whether it be a long weekend or a week or two go and see for yourselves!

We have just returned from our second visit to the farm.Which was as enjoyable as the first. We recieved the same warm welcome from Lorrain who owns and runs the farm with help from here mum Jean and partner Andrew. She served us on arrival with a pot of fresh coffe and cake.
The rooms are very comfortable with everything you could need.
The breakfast served in the main house is superb, you may choose as much or as
little as you want, all freshly cooked to order.
The location is great, very quiet and relaxing but with lots of places to visit nearby.
We particularly like Thornton-le-dale which is a lovely little village a short car ride away
and Heartbeat Country not far away. There are some lovely places to eat nearby and a local pub just a short walk away.
We will definitly be paying it another visit in the near future.
Good luck to Lorrain Jean andAndrew

For the last six years or so we have stayed here and in 3 different cottages. It is a great place for unwinding as it is so peaceful. The cottages are spotless and very well equipped and the owners Jean and Lorraine are fantastic. They are there when you need them and very helpful but not in your face.
We love the area and always find somewhere new to visit. There are plenty of great places to eat in the area.
We will be returning.
