“Five Star B & B”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 10, 2011

This was the first time we had stayed at Ashfield House and had booked it on the strength of Trip Advisor comments - we were not disappointed. Debbie met us with a warm friendly smile and after we had been shown our room we were offered a pot of tea and a slice of lemon drizzle cake which was delicious. Our room was lovely well furnished and beautifully clean with a very generous hospitality tray that included - yorkshire crisps chocolates fresh coffee bags and fresh milk was also provided. Again the bathroom was spotless with plenty of space and an ever so easy to use shower snowy white bathrobes were also provided. There was a good choice for breakfast which was well cooked perfect poached eggs every day from Debbies chickens and wonderful bacon. This was served in the conservatory where it was lovely to sit and watch all the different birds on the feeders.

Ashefield House is in a quiet position and only a short walk to town, Debbie has created a nice relaxed atmosphere it was so pleasent to sit in the lounge or conservatory after a good day out. Debbie was so helpful with places to eat during our stay nothing was any trouble to her am sure she works hard to make all her guests feel very comfortable. It was such a pleasure to stay in her lovely home we will most certainly be back.

Lovely accommodation in a quiet location but only a few minutes walk to the centre of this lovely market town. Breakfasts fantastic, hosts welcoming and helpful, very relaxing environment. We will definitely go back.

Everything was excellent, from the warm welcome with tea and homemade cake served in the conservatory, to the wonderful breakfasts (try the scrambled eggs with smoked salmon!). Debbie gave us very good advice about places to visit, and also where to go for our evening meals.
Pickering is a pretty market town and very convenient for exploring the North Yorkshire Moors. The North Yorks Railway and town centre are within 10-15 mins walk.

Room Tip: Just 2 lovely rooms both with excellent bathrooms

Trip advisor brought us to Ashfield house, what a perfect place to stay for a Birthday Treat, delicious Homemade Lemon Drizzle Cake on arrival, a conservatory and a lounge to relax and unwind. A spotless bedroom en suite with lots of little extra’s scrumptious breakfasts including fresh fruit salad and freshly laid eggs from Debbie’s hens, everything was perfect.

My wife and I stayed here for three wonderful nights in June 2011. The accommodation is superb and the welcome provided by Debbie & Tommy even better. Breakfast is the best ever as was the welcome lemon cake. The location of Ashfield House is perfect, just a gentle 10 minute stroll into Pickering, where there are some really nice restaurants, and so many nice places to visit within a one hour drive.
All in all a wonderful experience that we will repeat many times in the future.
