Lovely cottage surrounded by beautiful countryside and great walks. Caroline thinks of every little detail to make your stay comfortable and hassle free. The accommodation is spacious and well appointed - even our dog loved it!!!

This was my first time in North Yorkshire (I'm Swedish) and my Yorkshire born husband and I chose to stay at Flamborough Rigg Cottage based on the recommendations here. We were not disappointed! Caroline and Phil were wonderful hosts, very discreet but helpful and welcoming. There was a huge selection of books and DVDs to borrow. The supper platters were delicious and great value for money - highly recommended (they have to be booked in advance, preferably the day before). Breakfasts were varied, something different every day, and truly a couple of meals in one! Who needs lunch after that? The surrounding areas were lovely, only a fifteen minute drive into Pickering, and the North York Moors were just around the corner, with the seaside not far away at all. We are already planning our next stay in August 2012, and then we'll be bringing our dog. Oh, and the room was beautiful, clean and very comfortable (we were there in October and it was quite cool, but inside it was always toasty warm), with French doors opening up onto a lovely garden (shared with the other room). The only thing was that the television was a bit small, so we had to move it closer to the bed when we watched films.

Room Tip: We stayed in the Shaw and it was delightful.

We travelled to Stape for a weekend away with our teenage son and to meet up with our daughter who is studying nearby at university, our black lab also joined us (it was the first time we had travelled this distance with our dog, and stayed away with her.)
The entire weekend was a great success, Flamborough Rigg Cottage is perfect in every respect, beautiful location, very clean spacious rooms, great hosts, we all enjoyed the weekend, and wished we could have stayed longer, we were slightly concerned how the weekend would work with the dog, but it was brilliant, love to re visit, we would highly recommend.

We spent two nights in Flamborough Rigg's Lockwood BnB room which was beautiful and very comfortable with French windows opening out into the garden. We also enjoyed using the cosy sitting room available to guests where we ate a delicious Supper Platter.Caroline and Phil were the perfect hosts and we will definitely be returning!

We stayed overnight arriving around ten and leaving at 8...so cow
D Flamborough Rigg impress? They certainly did. We have been before and so had no hesitation going back....Caroline even booked us in for dinner at a local pub...and was there to welcome us when we arrived. The room was clean and clearly had a touch of something special, from the bathing lotions to the comforts in the room. The following morning we had an early breakfast as we needed to be away... And Caroline arranged everything so we could be away on time. Breakfast was locally produced including eggs from their hens! We even enjoyed the start of the World Cup rugby whilst we enjoyed home made bread toasted to perfection. We can't fault this place and will be back when we venture back to walk the North Yorks Moors. Try Flamborough Rigg, value and great hosts...you will be impressesd.

Flamborough Rigg Cottage provides an excellent hideaway. Phil and Caroline have made a rather special place and we would highly recommend their B&B.

We stayed in the cottage for a week at the begining of July. I can honestly say that I cannot fault the place. The cottage was clean, immacuately presented and the information provided for guests could not be faulted.

We stayed with our rather excitable dog and Phil and Caroline couldn't have been more welcoming to all of us - and a great source of local information. There was a folder with maps and information about walks and local (dog friendly) pubs. And, by reading through the visitors book we obtained even more information.

Only minor problem (which would not put me off staying) was the sheep being rather vocal when trying to sleep!
