We booked our stay through the castle croft website. Roger, co-owner replied so quickly and it was great to hear right from a owner knowing that we were booked with no worries.

It is family run place with a very friendly and relaxing atmosphere. They have a cat and a dog. Frances was so kind to us and filled with great Scottish history and places to visit.

The main room has breathtaking views from both sides and you can walk into town and to other attractions.

Thier son, Magnus is quite friendly and eager to help with our bags and answering questions.

Note: Frances, who cooks the meals is open to vegan and veggie cooking. Quite a shock in the middle of Scotland!!

I loved staying here and I am eager to visit again. It was right in the middle of it all. While the family made you feel at home, you also had your privacy. I recommend rooms on the bottom floor, where I stayed, patios and space is lovely.

This B&B was great. Frances & Roger were the perfect hosts and we enjoyed our stay a lot. The ensuite room was everything that we had hoped for and their breakfast was perfect! The water pressure in the shower was very good so no complaints there at all. Though we did not drive, they had plenty of parking room for travelers riding their way through Scotland. The information that they provided us and the transport to the rail station upon our departure were invaluable. Their location below the Stirling castle was fantastic providing great views and was in close enough proximity to Stirling and the castle that we walked everywhere. By the way, their deer hound was roundly friendly and their son was very helpful getting our bags to the room. We would recommend this B&B to anyone visiting Stirling. We can't wait to return!

The owners are friendly and make you feel at home. The breakfast
was very good. It's just a short walk up a hill to the castle and
then down to the town center. We found it really convenient and
would definitely stay at the Castlecroft again.

“Friendly, good location, tired decor”

Positives: The hostess was cheerful, enthusiastic, and friendly. The location is great. It's a short walk over a hill (by road or path) to the gates of Stirling Castle, and the town of Stirling. We walked it at night on our way to dinner and found it eerily beautiful to walk past an ancient graveyard by the floodlights of the historic castle.
The breakfast was good, although we'd been spoiled by a phenomenal one elsewhere.
The beds were comfortable and the room was clean, and warm.
Less positives: It didn't have the charm of some other B&Bs. Not much in terms of decor-- sort of a 60s house with tired 70s decor. Think open stairs like on the Brady Bunch. It needs a general update-- hollow, shaky, wooden sliding door to the bathroom, and not much water pressure. It felt a bit like we were staying in a spare room in someone's house, with the family wandering about, which was a bit odd.
Note-- these are new owners (approx 9 months) so best to check back and see what they've done with it.

Bud and I loved it. Fantastic, very romantic, a little bit spooky on top of the mountain, very old cemetary there. Gorgeous view. Miss you!!!
