“Great Airport Hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 15, 2013

We stayed here for one night prior to flying from Gatwick, I chose it because of the good price and the fact that they could provide a room for two adults and three children. The room was a very spacious one, very clean with a decent bathroom. We didn't have breakfast at the hotel but ate in the restauarant for evening meal which was very good. I think that we got excellent value for money £113 for one night including parking for a week. It was thenan extra £3 per person return to the airport. This hotel is just what you need for one night before going to the airport. I would not hesitate to stay here again. Pick up and drop off at airport went very well too.

Room Tip: No lift available?

We booked into the Cambridge on the night before flying to Gambia from Gatwick.
The room was excellent, tho' we arrived too late in the evening for a meal.
We booked a coach to take us to Gatwick for 5am, and it was waiting for us.

On our return, after passing thro' customs, we 'phoned the Hotel to collect us, which after about 15mins, the coach arrived and took us back to the hotel, where we stayed the night.

Breakfast was freshly cooked for us, our car was washed and we left to drive home.

Exceptional service from a great friendly hotel

Return visit to this convenient hotel for an overnighter before a morning flight from Gatwick. Getting a bit tired now but rooms are clean & comfy & the shuttle bus is very convenient. Used to be free but now has small charge. We paid £73 for a night & weeks parking on site plus extra for breakfast. No problem there especially if you have a very early flight before breakfast is served.

This hotel offers excellent value for money. We stayed the night before our holiday and left our car with the hotel. Our room was lovely and spacious and we nada fantastic meal in the hotels restaurant. We were dropped at the airport in the morning by the mini bus and the driver was lovely and helpful. When we returned we were picked up and returned to the hotel. Once we arrived at the hotel our car had broken down and the staff were so helpful they even dropped us off at the garage and supplied us with coffees. I would thoroughly recommend this hotel if you are flying from gatwick especially if you need to leave your car.

I parked my car at this Hotel for two weeks and spent a night there on my return. The parking and airport shuttle was faultless I would give it 10 out of 10, however our room, we arrived at the Hotel at 6.30 pm and we were given room 55 in the attic, you can only just walk around the bed, and you can't fit two in the bathroom, there is not even enough room to open a suitcase on the floor, if you plan to use this Hotel ask for a room not in the attic. The breakfast at £7.50 each was excellent, just a shame about the room, I would not use this Hotel again without a guarantee of decent size room.

Room Tip: Do not go in the attic

I first stayed in this hotel in November of last year and 'though my husband and I were happy with our stay, I had written quite a negative review about our restaurant experience and suggested that the next time we stayed, we would get a taxi into Horley for dinner. On our arrival at the hotel we were given the same warm welcome as last time, however the room that we were allocated had a slight plumbing problem and was not as spacious as the room we had on our last visit but, nevertheless, more than adequate for the needs of our one-night stay. Because we had overslept after our 'nap', we decided that it was too late to go into Horley for dinner and we would chance using the Cambridge's own restaurant again. Whilst browsing through the menu in the bar, we were delightfully entertained by Zoe whom we had met in November. She said that she had read my last review, (in which I compared the hotel to 'Fawlty Towers' and the 'nervous' waiter to Manuel after our chosen bottle of wine had been dropped), and blushingly admitted that it was actually she who had broken the bottle not the waiter! APOLOGIES TO 'MANUEL', (not his real name). This time, we had an exquisite meal and excellent service by our very own Zoe and thoroughly enjoyed our evening. Yes, it must be said that the hotel is beginning to look shabby and is in dire need of a facelift, but considering that there is free car parking for the duration of your holiday even if you are only staying for one night and the staff are super friendly and attentive, you would be hard put to find another hotel as good and as 'value-for-money' as the Cambridge.

Room Tip: Ask for a room away from the main road.

Booked as a park and stay deal on the way to Podrica for the footy. This hotel did exactly what it said on the tin. Seems to have been renovated recently so no complaints there.

Food in restaurant was good, not cheap but worthwhile.

Would use it again.
