“Great Service, Rooms and Location, but it all adds up.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 29, 2010

This hotel makes a great place to stay if jetting away from Gatwick Airport. Its close to the airport with a good, reliable shuttle bus. The service we received was excellent, from check in (we received a room upgrade) through to room service which was prompt with good quality food from a varied menu. We had car parking for 8 days with our package which represents great value for money.
So whats the catch? Well, by the time we added dinner, a drink, breakfast (£5 reduction per person if booked at check in) and shuttle bus tickets, our bill had doubled from the original package we booked.
In summary, the package deal is good value and we have stayed here on a few occasions. Usually our arrival and departure times mean we don't need dinner or breakfast. As we found out on this visit, adding extras soon adds up.

Stopped here for a park & stay stoppover before flying from Gatwick. Location easy to find and really handy on the shuttle bus that leaves every 15 mins from outside reception. Rooms are typical Holiday Inn standard rooms and the beds were good giving a good nights sleep. Didnt eat in the restaurant either in the evening or the morning as the costs were prohibitive.Had a couple of drinks each in the bar and spent nearly £30 for the two of us!
On the upside we gave the front desk our estimated time of arrival on our return and the car was parked up ready for us to get straight off.
Would definitely stop here again, but eat before you arrive!

I booked the Holiday Inn for a one nights stay with up to 15 days parking. I must admit to feeeling a little concerned about some of the bad reviews and was contemplating cancelling, however any fears where unfounded. The room was comfy, clean, and the ventilation was working (it was a hot night). The bathroom was a tiny bit tired but was exceptionally clean. Was rather taken aback by the fullness of the car park, but turnover for a space was quick. Buses for terminals were frequent. We did not eat there, but instead opted for a local pub, so can not comment on food. Check was a breeze, and upon retuning after our holiday we had the car with 5mins. The only thing some people may be concerned with is that they state that at check in , if busy, your car may be taked off site whilst you are away - however websites imply that that it parking 'is just on site'. More a point of interest raher than a problem. All in all, is worked perfectly for us and we would not hesistate to do stay again.

Well cnnot really say much apart from this hotel is fine we booked it was it was better and cheaper to have a room and 15 days parkings at £99 which is really good as so parking on its own is £80.
The otel is clean and they have smoking rooms i will say this do not buy from the bar as the price will give you a small heart attack instead go next door were there is a large tesco store and buy your own drinks and snacks.

We stayed at the Holiday Inn on Saturday 1st May 2010 for our honeymoon airport stopover. We took the park and fly package.

Car Parking – Very good, easy to park up, take a note of the colour bays you are in and let reception know on check in. They take your details and the car key and will have your car ready for you on the day you return. Our car was waiting for us no problem the day we returned very tired and jetlagged so it was much appreciated!

Check In – Very professional, quick and easy. We also got a free upgrade to an Executive Room for being on our honeymoon which was lovely and unexpected!

Room – Lovely, right size, all facilities required available including mini bar and hairdryer etc. Bed was very comfortable and we had a good, quiet nights sleep. The bathroom was again a good size and we both had a bath so can’t comment on the shower!

Room Service – we had room service for our evening meal which was very nice, a little overpriced but what hotel doesn’t have overpriced room service!

All in all I would definitely use again, and would definitely use the parking facilities again if required.

Good quality Holiday Inn. I was in one of the executive rooms which had a couple of nice extra touches. Didn't eat at the hotel in the evening or morning so no comment here. The bar drinks were a bit pricey, £4.20 for a pint of Staro, no ales on tap unfortunately. The room was comfortable and well laid out, good bathroom too. Only negative was the mini bar fridge which made a random banging noise every now and then during the night. Parking at the hotel is £10 per night. There is resident friendly ginger cat round the back of the hotel as well.
There is a Tesco superstore just around the corner where you can have a cooked breakfast and pot of tea for £3.95.

I booked a room on Saturday for £48.
For some reason the Holiday Inn decided it was unreasonable to include taxes in this quoted price (like normal UK hotels), so they added tax (£8.40). Then on arrival asked for a further £10 to park the car - even though we had a room!
So a £48 room became £66.40 without even ordering any extras (we refused to have breakfast there as it was £10/£15 depending on when it was paid for).
Also, they were charging £1 to use the scales to weigh luggage!

I don't like places that charge like this. I want the quoted amount to be the amount I am going to pay. So sadly I wouldn't recommend this hotel.
