“Good value Airport Hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 4, 2009

Paid 55 GBP on the Priorty Club website, very fast and efficent check in , the fastest ever! Good sized room which was very clean and quiet with a very comfy bed. The only negative is the rooms lack flat screen TV's and there is no free wifi! Nice bar and lounge downstairs which looked modern, did not have dinner there as it was overpriced, took the advice of Prev reviews on here and went to the Six Bells Pub, about a 5 min walk through the graveyard! Drinks at the bar, 3.60 GBP for a pint of Bulmers draft which is not much higher than London bar prices. Breakfast was very good with a great selection of hot and cold food. No problems with the shuttle service, came on time. You can get the shuttle tickets at rececption and just add it to the bill. Staff were helpful and friendly at all times which is always been my experience with Hoilday Inn's and Hoilday Inn Express.

I've stayed at this hotel countless times over the last 5 years (at one stage was staying once a week) but this was my first return in about 18months.
Check in was a pleasure - key already and a pleasent welcome.
House keeping however has let down the hotel - arrived in room to find it hadnt been cleaned since last guest - dirty mugs and glasses, unmade bed and full bins. Ringing reception was met with full appology and an offer to send someone up with a key for a new room. OK not a great start but these things happen and the appology seemed genuine. Goodwill evaporates when 2nd room has faulty lighting and a non functioning TV. 3rd room of the night OK.
The rooms while spacious do look in need of a refurb - clean (well 2nd and 3rd rooms where!) but look a bit tired and if paying the full rack rate would feel poor value. No in room fridge, no safe and small bathroom.
For an airport hotel however still good value and good service - just please Holiday Inn invest in some paint and new carpet

Stayed here for one night before a long haul flight to the West Indies, checking in was quick we were given all passes for breakfast and the shuttle bus for the airport which runs 24 hours every 15-20 minutes. The room was large enough to accomadate our large luggage without them getting in the way of walking around the room, towels and bathroom were spotless, beds were comfortable, we did not have our evening meal there we found a really good pub up the road that had fantastic sunday dinners for under £10.00. on our return to our room our key card would not let us back in the room this was sorted out in less than five minutes after we answered a few security questions to make sure we were the people that booked the room we were impressed with this. we did have breakfast that was hot and tasty. After this we went and got our luggage checked out which just as quick as checking in, we only stayed overnight but the service was GREAT would recommend to anyone and we would definately stay there again keep up the good work Holiday Inn Thanks!!!!!

We stayed at the Holiday Inn prior to flying to Venice, booked it by phone as website bit of a pain, got 8 days parking and a room for £109, check in was absolutely the most well oiled and efficient process that has happened to me in yrs. from a corporate organization.
room was fine, very quiet, well ventilated, phone didnt work but they changed it instantly.
Room service bloke must have been hiding down the corridor as dinner arrived in about 5 mins flat and was very nice, there is a surcharge of £2.50 each so if feeling poor go to restaurant.
we returned a day early but there was no fuss with the car, the keys were produced and home we went. LOVE IT we will return,

stayed here for 1 night before flying to orlando.we had the hotel and upto 21 days parking for £119 via the website.check in very quick and car registration also quick.just give them your car keys on check in and car ready and waiting on your return.rooms very good including main bed.and bathroom also good.only complaint childrens bed starting to look a bit threadbare .we had a very quiet nights sleep, which is rare for an airport hotel.to get to the airport there is a bus which takes you for £3.50 per passenger no discount for children.but on your return to gatwick airport from your holiday.follow the signs for taxis and just before the doors to leave the airport there is a taxi cab booth.they charge just £8.50 for a taxi .cheaper than the bus if there are 3 of you or more.in all a good airport hotel and would use again

We stayed at the Holiday Inn at (Povey Cross Roads) Gatwick Airport for one night in September 2009 before heading off on holiday. It was easy to find. We had a good deal which, under their Park, Stay & Go rate included 15 days car parking. Check-in was quick and easy. Staff friendly. We stayed in room 123 on the ground floor. The room was large, quiet and comfortable with a nice bathroom. It had a tv, tea/coffee making facilities, trouser press and a ‘pillow menu’. As we checked out very early we did not have breakfast. We used their express checkout, which was convenient. There was a hotel transfer bus, which called at the hotel every 15 minutes. My only complaint was that the bath towels were a bit on the small size for this standard of hotel. However I would certainly stay here again if flying from Gatwick .
