In every way the Belmont turned out to be eactly as it was reported except for the surprise of a shared bath. We booked the hotel through Cheaptickets.com. The reservation gave complete directions on how to contact the hotel from Gatwick Airport. The courtesy shuttle arrived in 15 minutes for the short ride to the guest house. The reception was friendly and our room was on the seond floor [first European]. We had to share the bath with one other room, but this did not create any problems. We took the short walk into the town of Horley...small and quiet. We decided to have dinner at the guest house. My ceasar salad was made with bacon instead of anchovies but still it was OK. My wife had the fish & chips...a much better choice. The room was clean, quiet and equipped with a TV and sink. Breakfast was a cross between American and English served buffet style. We had arranged for our shuttle back to Gatwick the night before and we were dropped off as requested.

We have stayed in this B&B on a couple of occasions now and it makes a great alternative to the corporate blandness offered by the major chains nearby. The rooms are clean and modern and the staff were very friendly and helpful and made sure that we got to the airport on time and were quickly picked up upon our return. The large bar is a particularly nice feature and makes for an enjoyable stay!

We have stayed in many guest houses and B and B's in the UK and this one was the worst. The free transport to and from Gatwick its only virtue. The breakfast is awful, the rooms poorly furnished and lit. All in all, this place was a dump. Better to pay the extra pounds from Gatwick and stay at a nicer place. Even the Ibis was better than the Belmount and that isn't saying much.

Was pretty worried about staying here after reading some reviews. We booked 3 rooms for 9 people as a stay over before flying from Gatwick to Malta. Our rooms were split up 2 in the main house and one at the side. All of our rooms were very clean and comfortable. The staff were extremley hard working, helpful and friendly. Transfers were great. Breakfast was reasonable and plenty to go round. All 3 partys will definately stay here again next year.
