Stayed here for two nights this past weekend in osprey room. The lodge, restaurant and room were very clean and the staff very friendly. Great view from room of the lake. A couple negs...the shower is pretty small and the shower head not positioned great. And the beds were too hard. Woke up several times thru night when turning over. Got dinner the fist night there and unfortunately salmon sandwich I got was not very good. My friend liked his ribs though. So prob just a miss with cooking of salmon.

We appreciate you enjoyed your stay. Thank your for the positives and negatives. The showers are the size they are in order to provide all rooms with bathroom facilities. The shower heads will be checked throughout the property for ease of repositioning. The salmon burger is being removed from the menu, but the ribs never. After Saturday, October 19th the restaurant will be open Thursday through Saturday evenings with the exception of Christmas, December 24th through New Year's Eve and President's week until Memorial Day. The menu will be reduced in size, but will remain very appealing.

My wife and I just got back this morning from Vermont. We stayed at the Willoughvale Inn for three nights and enjoyed our time. Roy, Nicole and Julian were such nice person to deal with. We stayed in the Courtyard. The room is very cozy. The room is located right behind the bar. There was a rehearsal dinner one of the nights and the noise penetrated through to our room. Can not really do much about that.
The ability to have a campfire and use canoes and kayaks in Lake Willoughby is great.
The restaurant/bar has great food and the pricing is reasonable. Chef Julian is truely an artist.
Thank you very much everyone involved in our stay. I would recommend to anyone.

Thank you for you expression of good feeling about your stay. I can't deny that the Courtyard Room can is affected by excessive noise coming from the Tap Room and I am sorry for that. I am comfortable in saying that it does not occur often as we generally close down the bar area as dinner service comes to an end.

We just got back form the WilloughVale Inn yesterday and I am already yearning to return. It was just fantastic, the Loon room with a view to the Lake and yes we heard the loons calling, was roomy comfortable ( the just put in a new king bed, awsome!). the food for breakfast was suprising, we thought just cold cereal, toast and coffee, but there was a scrambled egg choice and either french toast or pancakes and it was good! The dinners were fantastic, great Chef, we never even thought about going somewhere else. Even though it was the end of summer it was still busy, always a good sign of a popular spot. The assistant Inn Keeper Nicole was super, always friendly and interested in what we had done for the day. We can't wait to go back. The weather was cool but the crisp clean air and the star filled nights were just incredible. Oh and we saw a pair of bald eagles circling the Inn twice. Great time! Thanks WilloughVale!!!

Room Tip: all the rooms are great, stay in the Osprey or Loon for less expensive but if you want ot go all out...

Happily the Willoughvale stays busy through to Columbus Day. We will continue to have our dining room open Wednesday through Sunday until we cut back to 3 days a week after Oct. 19th. From Thursday, October 24th through to Memorial Day Gil's Bar and Grill will be open Thursday through Saturday evenings. The exceptions will be December 24th through New Year's Eve and President's Week. We will have a Thanksgiving Day Special menu as well as Christmas Day and New Years Eve.

Whether you stay in a room at the Inn or in one of their cottages, you will have a wonderful stay at any time of the year. The cottages on the lake have their own docks, are all remodeled, and are spotlessly clean. The views of Lake Willoughby are spectacular! There are kayaks and canoes to use for free. If you plan to visit the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont, don't miss a stay at this wonderful Inn.

Room Tip: For a romantic weekend, choose the Pisgah Cottage. There is even a jacuzzi!

Due to my slow response for which I apologize, I can report that our chef, Julian, braved the quickly cooling waters of the lake to take our 25' water trampoline out several days ago with the help of Dennis, our maintenance person. Our cottage docks will come out next week as will the main dock and the ramp for the canoes and kayaks. We're staking the driveways for snow plowing and getting ready for winter.

We did a 2-day loop that required the Willoughvale to keep our luggage early while we dropped the car then past check out while we biked back to the car. They were so nice about it.
The place is spotless and convenient; the restaraunt is recommended

Thank you for your kind remarks. We try as best we can to accommodate guests who want to drop off luggage early in the day. We strive to get the room ready early depending on whether there was a guest in the room the night before and how many overall departures we have .

We stayed in the Gazebo Room, but what really impressed us was the selection of accommodations. They had everything from single rooms to private cabins. Although we visited in August, the little gas fireplace was extremely welcome (this is NORTHERN Vermont after all).

The staff was extremely attentive and efficient.

This isn't the kind of place I recommend for someone on a one-day, one-stop-and-move-on sort of trip. To get your money's worth, I'd recommend a three- or four-day stay.

I give them an excellent on location, but I'm speaking from the point of view of someone who wants to relax and enjoy the view. It's some distance from I-91 (thank the gods)

Room Tip: There's such a wide variety of different rooms and arrangements, I'd recommend talking a bit...

The Gazebo Suite is one of two on the first floor of the Inn. The other is the Governor Aiken Suite. They are located in an area that once comprised a 125 seat dining room. Each has it's own porch. I am pleased to say that they were fully occupied in August. Let me remind you, it is easy to view our various rooms and cottages and book them on line.

My husband, father and I spent the night at the inn and loved every minute of it. We had the Garden View Room and the Courtyard Room. . The rooms were exceptionally neat and clean, had flat screen TV's and Keurig coffee makers. The beds were a little hard and the air conditioner was a little close to the bed, but overall a great room. The common areas of the Inn were lovely and inviting. Our favorite area was the front porch with views of Lake Willoughby which is always beautiful. There wasn't a speck of dust or dirt on that porch which I find remarkable. On the waterfront were canoes, kayaks, life jackets, a fire pit, and a grill. The floating trampoline in the water looked like fun. The cabins were very attractive and we thought it would be nice to stay in one. If one is in Northern Vermont this Inn is a must. Try the restaurant, too. It's great.

Room Tip: The lakeview rooms had terrific views. Some first floor room have a private space on the big front...

Thank you for your appreciation of the Inn. The waterfront is currently minus our outboard motor. The propeller drive shaft was been damaged. If you are interested in renting a boat while staying with us, contact our front desk. We have limited space on our main dock for a boat and the Lakefront Cottages each have small docks for the guest's in those cottages.
