4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 28, 2012

This is basic..and the most consistently cheap price place to stay so close to Heathrow...The likes of the major chains prices vary hugely, depending on date of travel and whether or not you book well in advance..eg:Premier Inn--if you can get their deal for £19- £50 you will enjoy a better experience. If you are budget sensitive and can accept basic/varying standards, this lodge will do you well.
For £25 or there abouts, this is about as good as you will get so close to Heathrow..which is why so many people use it. As per other hotels, there is transport to the airport that you have to book..but it is free.Failing that, local transport from the bus stop 30 metres away is free. And there is the free bus Hoppa. So there is no transport disadvantage to staying here.
You may find that the reception area is far better appointed than your own room..some have been refurbished and some have not.You may find you are not in the main building and staying in a house with your own room almost next door.Don't expect your TV to work, although reception will show surprise if it does not..longer term residents have said this is normal but they seem to get away with it without offering compensation. If your TV does work, you may only get one channel !!
There is a day room where you can access wi-fi,(not free) boil a kettle and use a micro-wave.It is comfortable and well lit with natural light and probably a nicer place to be than your own room for any length of time.
Alternatively..go to the KINGS ARMS across the road, which seems to be open and doing food all day until 10pm.It is newly refurbished,COMFORTABLE AND CLEAN, has free wi-fi provided provided you buy a drink or something, has much nicer lavatories than in some of the Lodge rooms, Sky TV and VERY CHEAP home cooked food for all nationalities.(eg:bowl of chips £2,prawn cocktail £3.50, Sushi, curries and so on). Also a breakfast which the Lodge cannot provide and the Kings Arms will be far cheaper than at the airport or Premier Inn type hotel.
My suggestion is that if you are seeking a cheap place to stay, maybe even for more than one night, give this place a go and make your own mind up as to whether you will come again. It's also a cheap option from which to use the free local transport to get to the airport station and into London.
Reception can be a bit slow and do not expect to be shown to your room. All the staff are friendly and polite.

Room Tip: 1.If you aren't of student age, insist on a refurbished room if there is one avaliable.2.CHECK al...

Got there late in the evening with the free 423 shuttle from Heathrow terminal 5. Only took a few minutes drive to get there and the bus stop was close to the lodge. A really nice guy welcomed me at the reception and took me to my room (outside the main building). The room wasn't a luxury room but wasn't expecting anything more for that price. It was clean, very warm, had towels, beds already made, soap and shampoo in the bedroom, kettle, tea and coffee. All I needed and everything for only £18. The shared bathroom was clean too and had a bath/shower and a basin. Will definitely go back every time I'll be flying from Heathrow and have already recommended it to some friends. ;)

I stayed in one of the rooms in the annex building and it is nothing to write home about and the shared bathroom was a bad experience. It was an unpleasant way to end a nice holiday all because I wanted to stay close to the airport and running a bit low on cash. Wouldn't do this ever again!!!

I stayed in this lodge for a week in the main building. They have ensuite rooms in the main building whose quality is not less than 4 star deluxe hotel and basic rooms in annex building. I was totally worried on watching their bad reviews but I concluded that the people who stayed in the basic room in annex building put that reviews. I am well satisfied with customer service they provided during my stay as they have good inter-personal relationship with the guests.I highly recommend the travellers to stay for better quality in low price.

This place really needs some upgrade. There was a long waiting for check-in, filthy rooms, no signs of cleaning at all. No toilet tissues in the toilet, no lights in the corridor, etc. However, I must say that it is a great value for money especially if you are traveling to/from Heathrow airport. Terminal 5 is just 15 mins walk from this lodge and the lodge offers free shuttle to and from the airport. There is also a free bus (no 423) available.

I guess what do you expect for 32quid? Probably a little more than we got. Room was really smelly, disgusting actually, we aired it out for a couple of hours after we walked in only problem being it was -2celsius outside so airing out was a pretty cold experience, shared bathrooms were disgusting ill let you use your imagination there, we were rudely awoken at 0730 when the guy who run the airport shuttle service got our room mixed up and knocked on the door telling us we were late for our shuttle pick up then at 0900 another knock at the door this time being the cleaner asking us what time we were leaving cause he wanted to clean the room, WTF? Website clearly states checkout is 1200. Bed mattresses are worn and uncomfortable.

Upside is the hotel across the road, under new management, friendly staff, good hearty meals around 4-7pounds, cheap pints, and a massive 5pound full english bfast with GOOD coffee and free wifi, there is a free bus going to Heathrow from across the road leaving every 15 or so minutes.

Room Tip: BYO Air freshener and/or nose peg, eat at the pub across the road.

I have been staying at heathrow lodge on and off for the past 8 years and I have been happy with the service on every occassion. The rooms are basic, but clean. I was lucky enough to be upgarded to a premium room which offered a flat screen plasma, brand new shower en suite, a clean refurbished room, which was lovely. Heathrow lodge cannot be beaten on price, and its at an excellent location. The free shuttle bus is also a surpurb addition at very useful. Im looking forward to my next stay in the new year!
