“Excellent 6 Nights”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 24, 2013

I had a meeting at Holiday Inn Heathrow (Bath Rd/Sipson Way), but chose to stay at Premier Inn Heathrow T5 for many reasons. First is the excellent rate (Egencia Special Rate) that I got from my TMC, second is the excellent reviews on TA, third is the extremely value-for-money breakfast (£8.95 for all-you-can-eat huge spread) and lastly the extremely cheap Wi-Fi (£10 for 7 days!) where you could connect multiple devices to the same login.

Premier Inn in every met and exceeded expectations, from a huge comfy bed, spacious and clean room, good dining options in the vicinity and even within the hotel (Costa Coffee, Thyme Restaurant) and a McDonald's literally next door, if you wish. There is also a Shell Select minimart 100m down, if you wish to get something else.

There is a free public bus available from Heathrow Airport Terminal 5, which is 423, and you can board it at bus bay 6. Very convenient for me arriving via Heathrow Express train to T5 and transferring to 423. I only wish the hotel has some instructions this free public bus service on their website, because I had to call them at 9.30PM in the evening to find out how to get to the hotel. And you alight at the second bus stop (Thistle Hotel stop) which takes around 6 minutes from T5, so it was overall convenient if I had this information available on Premier Inn's website.

Good honest premier inn, costa and a decent restaurant and bar, great for an overnight stop over between flights, took a while to find the right bus that took us there, but it is not far from T5 and really good value for what we paid in comparison to other hotels.

Stayed here before an early morning flight.
Convenient, easy bus transfers to and from Terminal 5 both well into the evening and first thing.
Noted that the windows are heavily sound proofed, and that works!

I flew from Newcastle to Heathrow in February and I had to stay the night in at the Premier inn with my 5 month old daughter. The staff helped me to do the express check inn and helped me with my luggage in my room, the bed was really comfy and shared the bed with my daughter. There was a cot, but she didn't wanted to settle alone there so, that was ok!

I haven't heard a plane, noise from other room, very quiet, clean fresh sheets, comfortable bed, very clean shower, couldn't ask for more! Left at 6am in the morning for my flight to Canada and I want to recomend this hotel to anyone!

Room Tip: Anything that is not near a fire exit :-)

Myself and my wife booked up the sleep, park & fly deal at the Premier Inn terminal 5 prior to flying out on our honeymoon. Firstly the hotel is lovely and clean and all staff we met were very polie and professional. We arrived at the hotel on the Saturday evening where we were given a complimentary car park ticket, this would normally cost £12.50 if just booking the hotel room. After dropping our bags off in our nice big and clean room we went back down to the hotel bar where we had a few drinks and a light snack which was very nice. The next morning we drove to terminal 3 which is where we were flying out of and parked our car in the short stay car park where we were met by a member of staff who would then move our car to a long stay car park. It was a minute walk to the departure lounge and so far so easy and stress free in getting to our flight on time. When we returned from our honeymoon we made the very short walk from arrivals to the short stay car park where our car was waiting for us. The service we received with this deal ranging from the hotel staff to car park staff was simply amazing and cannot recommend it enough. All in all we paid £99 for 1 night stay at a nice new Premier Inn and 8 nights (not including the free night when staying at the hotel) car parking. We didn't need to wait for any buses or need to rely on anybody else to get us to the airport on time, something that often stresses people out at the beginning of any holiday.

Needed a hotel that was both close to the airport and accessible to transportation that could get us to Watford Junction for the Harry Potter studio tour so this place fit the bill.

Getting to the Premier Inn Terminal 5 is easy. If you arrive at Terminal 5 just take the 423 bus at stop 6 outside the terminal and the hotel is only two stops away. It's free and no more than a 5 minute ride. You can take the same bus back to Terminal 5 to connect to transportation that can get you into central London. We arrived in the afternoon and if you don't plan on spending more than 6 or so hours in the city you can get a round trip ticket on the Heathrow Express with a Zone 1-2 card for the Underground at a discounted price. The Express gets you to Paddington station in 15 minutes but it's pricey.

In order to get to Watford Junction for the Harry Potter studio tour we took the 724 green line bus from the Heathrow Central Bus Station. To get there from the hotel take the 423 back to Terminal 5. You can then hop on the Heathrow Express which takes you for free to a drop off point where you can walk to the other Terminals as well as the Central Bus Station. The 724 bus took about an hour and cost around 8 pounds. Supposedly, this bus stops at Terminal 5 but there was no signage indicating that there was a bus stop there for this route. We waited at Terminal 5 but the bus was a no show according to the bus timetable we downloaded earlier so we just went straight to the Central Bus Station out of fear of missing our ride.

The hotel itself is cheap, clean, and basic. There are plenty of food options to choose from although the only time we ate at the hotel was after we arrived and eyed some bites to eat at the Costa in the lobby. There's a McDonald's next door and a restaurant in the hotel itself with a nice selection of foods. The room felt very new and we had a comfortable stay during our brief visit.

One note. We spent lots of money buying ourselves extra time and convenience by taking the Heathrow Express into London. With the money we spent we may as well have just stayed in somewhere in the city. Plus you don't have to worry about catching the last bus or train to get back to your hotel. We just didn't feel like lugging our luggage onto the tube to get into London when we planned this trip. We both agreed, however, that in the future we would just stay in the city. Nonetheless, this was a great hotel during our stay.

The hotel is very close to the airport.

There are several automatic check-in desks available, which made the booking-in process really quick and simple: we just entered our reservation number, and in seconds our receipt and room keys were printed out.

Our room was on the left-hand side as you face the front (Room 340), and overlooked a McDonald's restaurant. Apart from the odd aircraft noise at around 23:00, and again at about 07:00, there was nothing to be heard ~ nor any road noise! As in all hotels, there were a couple of times that guests did not close doors quietly, but fortunately this wasn't too early in the morning.

We stayed here the nights before and after a visit to the British Museum, as we didn't want to stay much closer to the centre for financial reasons, and would really recommend it.

A word of warning about the car park charges ~ £12 for 24 hours (but according to staff one can, apparently, have three hours free)! However, there are a few parking spaces available on the street outside from 17:00 to 09:00, so by carefully working out the timing we were able to park outside from our arrival at 18:30 to 08:30 on the first day; the car was then moved into the car park, and we paid £12 from 10:15. As we were leaving about 10:30 the following day, all was well.

If you wish to travel into London, and can buy a TravelCard beforehand, this is good value as it covers buses and tubes. We didn't buy in advance, so paid for a bus to Hounslow West tube station (£2.40 each), then a TravelCard for £8.90 each ~ and this was usable on the bus for our return: there is a bus stop right outside the hotel, too.

We ate in the restaurant on our first evening, and were truly amazed at the fantastic quality of the food. A great combination deal was offered, too: we paid about £23 each for a three-course meal, alcoholic drink, and a full breakfast the following morning ~ a great saving on the individual prices. The only small adverse comment we made was that the cheesecake was a little on the dry side. Breakfast, though, was top quality, too ~ poached eggs cooked to order, and perfectly.

The room and bathroom were spotless; a small quantity of tea, coffee and milk is provided in the room; anything else required could be obtained from Reception.

Whilst Jane found the bed a little too firm (she has orthopaedic difficulties), overall we really enjoyed the stay, and recommend it totally.

I believe other customers have given varied views of the cost of bus transfers to the airport itself: from what we saw, it appears to cost £4.50 per person one way, with the return journey free of charge.
