“Our Second Stay for a Heathrow Stopover”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 12, 2011

Our second visit to this Travel Inn ready for an early Monday morning flight out of Heathrow. Quite convenient as just off the M4/Junction 4 and 5 mins easy drive (the next morning) to get to the NCP Flightpath parking that we usually use for Heathrow flights - we've always found it to be the cheapest parking near Heathrow (booked in advance) and note that most cabin crew use it aswell.

As said before, rooms are clean, beds are comfortable and the staff are friendly and helpful enough. Our room was facing the motorway, but with two sets of double glazed windows it was quiet enough to sleep. Enjoyed dinner there on the Sunday night - my sirloin steak was pretty good and my husband's lamb kofta curry off the specials board he seemed to thoroughly enjoy. I wouldn't say it was busy, but there were quite a few people dining. OK - it's not gourmet michelin star chef standard, but just like good basic pub food. Also had the full English buffet breakfast the next morning which we enjoyed again, but I'm not keen on the Travel Inn sausages.

We think it's great value for a Heathrow stopover hence our return visit. Premier Travel Inn doesn't pretend to be anything else than a good budget hotel. If you want something more 'fancy' then go elsewhere but you'll find most other hotels around Heathrow are more expensive.

You know what to expect from the Premier Inn brand and this hotel doesn't disappoint. The rooms are clean and comfortable and we had an excellent night's sleep before our long flight. We opted for the Meal Deal and it was superb value - tasty food from a varied dinner menu and a really good breakfast served early. We had no problems finding a parking space and you would expect to pay for parking in this prime location. Our one minor problem was with the Ice Cream dispenser in reception- it was not loaded correctly so we got the wrong flavour but the reception staff didn't want to know - said it was operated by an independent company so they couldn't help us - not a very good attitude and this incident spoilt an otherwise excellent start to our holiday

Stop using the clients as cash cows. There should be free WIFI throughout the motel. The pricing structure of anything other than the bare basics has a £ sign added - £1 for weighing the luggage, 75p extra for bread and butter on fish and chips for £8.50, £10 for wifi, £? to charge the mobile, we are really surprised the Premier Inns do not charge for the hairdryer and use of the TV. The notice in the bathroom “have you forgotten something” goes on to explain that male and female kits are available at reception to purchase. The two big no-no’s for us is overnight parking fee and the internet, both could be included in the price. The price we paid is not budget price but it is budget cost cutting and it shows. Premier Inns have become the "Ryanair" of the hotel industry.
Having said that, the reception was first class as were all the staff. The ambience and decor were of a good standard and our room (233) was equally well furnished with a big and comfortable bed. Clean, fresh paint and the bathroom was well designed with a good shower. Caution though must be used when getting in and out of the bath/shower. The base is very slippery (no bath mat provided) and the sides of the bath quite high. So, from a traveller’s point of view for a one/two night stop over or business trip it’s ideal.
If you are travelling to or from Heathrow and require a taxi service we can highly recommend LHR Express Cars (Tel. +44 (0) 1895 444444). We phoned them when we were picking up our luggage in Heathrow Terminal 1 and they were there before us and the car park area, happy, smiling and courteous. For two of us the fare was only £7.50 whereas the hopper bus was charging £4 per person and you had to wait and trundle your own luggage on and off. It’s a no brainer and we would use them any time.

I stayed at Premier Inn with my young son in February on a layover back to Canada. I was a little suspicious about the rates and state of hotel but after reading the reviews on Trip Advisor i decided to give it a shot.
The hotel lobby is simple and nothing fancy, who cares, no one sleeps in the lobby.
Then we arrived late and the bar closed while we were checking in, the manager must have heard us because the bartender reopnened the door and we were able to get a few drinks and pop to take back to our room. this was very thoughtfull, maybe because I was alone with my 6 years old.. who knows.
then I got a little worried walking in the hallway, again nothing fancy, but then we got to our room and its was a great room. everything seemed new, except the carpet which smelled a little, but other than that, the furniture, bathroom, sheets, tv, everything seemd like it had just been replaced. and No bed bugs. The tub is amazing, its oversized, and you can watch tv from the bathtub.
By no means is this a fancy hotel, but the basics are there, clean and comfortable, friendly staff, fantastic breakfast, and you can get there for 8 pounds return with the airport shuttle.
I would definately recommend this to my friends, but again, if you are looking for a fancy hotel with L'Occitane amenities, this hotel is not for you.
I normally stay at Holiday Inn Express while on leisure with the family, and I would say this hotel is comparable but cheaper, about half if you can get the room online for 29 pounds.
Looks like there are renovations going on all around the hotel, maybe the carpets are scheduled to be steamed or changed in the near future.
We will stay there again if we have a layover in Heathrow.

A Premier Inn is a Premier Inn and you know what you are getting. This wouldn’t be my first choice of hotel near Heathrow for a pre/post flight stay, but if (like us) you are looking to keep the budget under control it is a satisfactory option.

The room is basic but the bed is lovely. The hotel isn’t too far from the airport, about ten minutes from room to car park, or you can use the airport shuttle service. We arrived at the hotel very late and finding a space in the car park was difficult, but we got there in the end. You do get charged extra for parking overnight.

Recommended for those on a budget or who are not fussy. Anyone who likes a few extras should go elsewhere.

Located outside the arrival hall (I arrived into Terminal 1) you will find the so called Hotel Hoppa. A bus service that stops at hotels near Heathrow Airport. The bus leaves from busstop number 4 and costs 4.50 pounds regardless of which hotel you are going to. You buy your ticket from the driver. It takes between 15-25 mins to get to the Premier Inn.
I was allocated a room on the second floor. My room faced the extremely busy M4 but there are double soundproofed windows so I hardly heard any traffic. The room was spacious with a large desk, phone, small flat screened TV and a safe. There is no minibar. The bathroom and room were immaculate. There was a comfortable kingsize bed. Even though this was an airport hotel, I found it to be quiet. There is a restaurant downstairs next to the reception where I had a meal. It was very tasty and reasonably priced. Reserve a table if you want to eat here. It is the only restaurant around and gets very busy in the evening. The rooms can only be reached by elevator using your rooms cardkey. I found this comforting since I am a female travelling on my own.
I found the Premier Inn to be good value for the product they offer. The staff at reception were friendly and check in was fast.

I have stayed here many times and as always never had a problem. Great service, fast check in, clean comfortable rooms. However if one is paying £6 for parking then a space should be provided. After paying £12 for two nights, there was no parking spaces available, I was advised to park in disabled spots if available or just casually park my car near the back of the hotel or place my car anywhere that is not causing an obstruction. For £6 a night with with no alternative thats not to great.
