“Not your typical Holiday Inn you come to get used to”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed October 20, 2010

How on earth they can charge £189 for this hotel beats me, well that was the price of a room on their webpage, I was lucky and got a deal through Octopus.

Rooms are dissapointing, the double room I was allocated, was in the inner circle with nil view, wedged shaped, and tiny. It was supposed to be a double room, but more like a single room with a slightly larger single bed with the pillows hanging off the edge of the bed. Defo no storage for 2, no minibar, 1 small bottle of shampoo, black mould on bath seals, grubby shower curtain, shower pouring water over the bath floor etc. I have stayed in better Hi Express hotels.

Breakfast room, was a riot, so many un-cleaned tables, looked more like a school dining hall after a juniors sitting than a 3* Holiday Inn. Food as you would expect, plenty on offer, good choices. Shame about the dirty tables.

Anything positive, well if you are flying from LHR, yes location is excellent and Hotel have a contract with a good cab company offerering fixed rates in good quality cars.

In future, I will pay a few pounds more, forego my PC points and stay in a better hotel, this was a let down, who gave it 3* needs to go back to star rating school, 2* more generous.

This was a mystery hotel which I booked via the holiday extras website. The checkin was easy, the room appeared to be newly furnished and the beds were comfortable. Most importantly, there was no noise from outside - the double glazing kept out the aeroplane noise . It is served by the Hoppa Bus alhtough I think you can also use public transport to get you there. AS it was a mystery hotel we got it at a fantastic price. The hotel also offers a deal which gives you two courses in their restaurant for a good price. Drinks were priced at London rates.

Stayed gre for 1 night, The first rooms we was given were in the inner circle of the Hotel,
These are the smallest double beds I have ever seen - the pillows over hang the beds !
These are large single beds , OK if you want a single , We complained and was moved
The outer Rooms are Fine, This Hotel does not offer free Wifi anywhere in the Hotel, Internet in Room is sky high - £15 - Rip Off nowadays , Bar Fine, but they know how to charge, Didnt eat at Hotel - Sky High prices £14.95 EACH for breakfast went to Sainsburys got it for £2.49 !!! - When will Hotels stop ripping us with Sky High Food charges, If its was a reasonable cost we would stay and eat in ! - But apart from these costs the Hotel was fine for a night ; Tip if you like a Curry, go to Zayani Curry House in 395 Sipson Road, about 5 minutes away by Taxi, Great Food.

Stayed at this hotel, early start from Heathrow, we thought the room was great, although we were upgraded to a executive room, such a nice surprise. Staff were very helpful and pleasant.

Absolutely the worse Holiday Inn in the world. People rude, no service, hectic, loud, crude, dirty, old, outdated, small, smelly, horribly overpriced. What more can I say. Stay away from this place.

The room was quiet and clean - shockingly quiet, I must stress - being literally across the road from Heathrow I was worried about being subjected to constant rumblings from the air traffic, but whoever sound-proofed this building certainly knew what they were doing.

That being said, the bed was obviously designed for durability at the expense of comfort. I might as well have slept on the floor for how hard it was. I generally sleep on my stomach, but was literally unable to do so, as the bed was so hard my ribs ached after laying in my usual position for ten minutes.

Additionally, it would be nice at check-in if these large hotels would hire front desk staff who actually could speak English. I don't think it's racist or chauvanist to expect to be able to converse with the person giving me my room, especially when said person refused to accept my AAA discount, despite my having provided her with a AAA card and print-out of the online booking form in which it notes that I have entered a valid AAA membership number. Perhaps if the person behind the desk spoke English and we weren't forced to communicate by nods and hand gestures, I would have gotten the 5 pound discount promised me on Holiday Inn's website.

That being said, after this episode I was a little miffed at the thought of eating dinner at this hotel, but in the absence of any other choice (the entire street is nothing but hotels), I sucked it up and ordered a 12 pound pizza. It was actually delicious, and the hotel restaurant has a good beer selection as well, so if you don't mind paying 5 pounds more than you're quoted on the website, and like sleeping on hard beds (I don't mean firm, I mean rock solid), this isn't a bad choice.

We landed at Gatwick & our flight left from Heathrow the following day, so we decided to stay here for the night to make life easier....there is no bellman to help with the luggage, the rooms are not the cleanest, the breakfast was lousy, service mediocre, there is a charge to take the shuttle to the airport (and yes, it is an airport hotel, but too far to walk to the terminal with all the luggage). The ONLY good thing that I can think of is that I did not hear planes while in the room.
