“Not up to usual Radisson standards.”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed April 12, 2011

The hotel itself is in a good location and despite the appearance of the hotel from the outside the inside was better to look at. The reception staff had no personality and are clearly scripted on exactly what to say rather than seeing customers as individuals.
Our room was in the top floor looking towards the runway and was nice enough if not a little retro and dusty in places. Considering how close to the runway you are I was not woken by airplane noise, however this is probably because I lived next to an airport for 23 years!!
The bar was a little odd, too many staff stood in the doorway doing nothing other blocking customers from getting in. Also a 95p service charge was added on to the price of 2 pints. What a joke when you consider that I was not even served at my table. I would love to hear exactly what the service charge was for??
Finally on checking out I was told the my bill would be sent onto me, I've still not had this through. When you consider that I heard at least 3 people complaining that their bills were incorrect, I would very much like to see mine.
All in all, would I stay here again? Probably not, there are other hotels in the area that I'm sure will offer better service and better value for money.

Stayed 1 night after a day flight from the US, so we arrived around 10 in the evening.
This may in part explain a pretty long wait to check in - obviously not what you want after a long flight. The next morning we had to leave early, and again we experienced a pretty long wait to check out. On both occations staff members were actually present at the front desk, apparently without taking notice of the waiting guests (only one position open). So overall we were not impressed by front desk services.
Although the hotel is situated close to the airport, our room was very quiet and nice, and the free wifi worked perfectly.
Overall, we would probably stay again, if the price is right.

The hotel itself is very nice, the restaurants are classy, but the hotel really fails in its rooms, which are very antiquated. The free wifi is nice, but some of the older rooms in the back are way too far from the access point: we had to work in the lobby. Staff are by far the most pleasant of the three Heathrow airport hotels that we've used, and if you can forgive the decor (which is really sort of quaint, in a 1970's B&B kind of way), it's a pleasant place to spend a night before you leave London.

Room Tip: Apparently some of the rooms have been refurbed.

Thank you so much for your kind review , and observation regarding our staff .

The room you stayed in was one of our unrefurbished rooms , we are currently updating all our rooms with over 300 finished so far . I am certain where you to see one of our new rooms you would be suitably impressed .
We have an ongoing commitment to improving our product , with our bar and restaurant already refurbished , and the advent of a new coffee shop . We will continue to improve all areas over the next few months until everything is finished .

Each time we have a flight from Heathrow we book into The Radisson Edwardian Heathrow for rooms as a base for our outward and return journey because we can park our car for the length of our holiday knowing it is safe. It is cheaper for us to drive there and back from West Dorset and stay over in the Radisson each way than risking a taxi there and back and the inevitable challenges of motor way hazards and perhaps missing our flights and the tensions that go with it.

The Radisson is comfortable, welcoming and good value and adds a touch of mystery and glamour to out trips. All the staff have been polite, helpful and smiling even though they could be pretty fed-up listening to travellers tales of woe.

The most bizzare for us was having to get a Saturday morning taxi from the hotel at 3.30 am to check in for a 6.30 am flight and as we passed The Bijou Bar with our suitcases the party animals from the Friday Night Conference were still in there wearing their party frocks and black suits hanging out together. Wonderful as we'd slept through all of that.

Our fifth stay there and we wouldn't go anywhere else. A great beginning and a great end to a holiday and far better than a taxi, a train or driving on the same day as flying.

We use this hotel for business and leisure quite often, usually burning up hotel points for a night before an early long haul flight.

The rooms are small, but so far we have had tidy decor, comfortable beds, plenty of hot water, tea and coffee facilities available, and free wifi which makes such a difference.

The shuttle to LHR is GBP4.00, buy your tickets from the machine by the main entrance of the hotel. Shuttles leave every 20 mins.

We found out on our latest stay that there is a car rental return office in the next street, which is so much easier than going to the LHR return. It is less than a 2 mins walk back. The next hotel up the street has a Starbucks if you want go for a quick stretch of the legs.

We eat at the main restaurant, Henleys, every time we stay. The food is very tasty and the staff are attentive. A really nice evening meal before the dreaded plane fare!

Business Centre is helpful and you can print out boarding tickets or other info easily and free of charge.

Only down side is noise from other guests as the walls are very thin, however you don't experience any plane noise which is quite wierd as there is a main runway opposite!

Stayed a night at this luxurious hotel and have to say I was impressed.

Being in the hotel trade myself, all be it a 3* delux (Days Hotel South Ruislip) I found this hotel to be on point. We had a room on the second floor and cudnt fault neither product or service.

Our room was facing the car park at the rear of the hotel which we found secure and accessible. We thought we would experience possible noise issues being so close to HEATHROW but gladly this wasn't the case. The decor of the room was contempary and the bathrooms very clean.

I was particularly impressed with the bar on the ground floor and the bar staff who were very knowledgeable. My only gripe was the drinks were expensive but I guess you don't mind if the service is good.

Reception staff are unfriendly and not pleasant. It's like they don't really care about their customers. The hotel has a hygiene problem, not one of the cleanest hotels I have been to. There was a loud annoying alarm in our room that woke us up at 3 o clock in the morning . Was not impressed at all.

Thank you for your review .

I would like to answer you more fully , however there are no real details as to what went wrong for me to comment on .
I can accept that something must have been amiss with your stay , but this is clearly not the usual type of comment for our property, and I can assure you both myself and our staff care very much about our customers , and the hotel is spottless .
