Just come back from a weekend at Southport (me and my husband) stayed at the Crescent Hotel - I would recomend this hotel to anyone - OK not the Hilton in London, but this is a Seaside B & B - and couldn't be any better. Room clean and tidy and very tastefully decorated. Tray with coffee, tea etc was a great touch. So the bathroom is quite small, it is clean, the toilet, basin and shower are spotless along with tthe towels that are changed daily. The location of the hotel is excellent, in walking distance of almost everything you would want.
The breakfast is fantasically good, with just about everything you could wish for, you can change the cooked breakfast into just about anything you want, drop the black pudding, change the fried egg to scrambled and so on, nothing is too much trouble for Chris and Wills - the owners who made us welcome from the moment we walked in to the moment we booked out. If we were ever to stay in Southport again I would have no hesitation of staying at the Crescent Hotel time and time again.

  • Liked — everything was very clean, staff were friendly
  • Disliked — parking - not enough

we were pleasantly surprised when we turned up at the crescent house hotel to find that the owner had just finished refurbishing our hotel room, and hes done a fantastic job on the room its been no expense spared to make our stay as comfortable as possible with a complete makeover with brand new shower unit and toilet and all brand new fixtures and fittings.and they do a great big morning breakfast complete with endless cups of tea or coffee.the hotel is in a great position close to the theatre and the promenade and some great pubs within walking distance(we especially liked the fox and goose pub)we cant wait to go back for another weekend.

We stayed at the Crescent House Hotel for 3 nights. The hotel is in a good position close to the pier , marine lake and all the shops. Our room was No;8 on the top floor, 4 flights of stairs(no lift) the hotel is a semi detached victorian property with 8 bedrooms.our room had a small double, a single and bunk beds you could sleep up to 5 easy. The room was clean and the beds comfortable. The hospitality tray was brimming with tea and coffee ther was also biscuits for the kids to eat! The only let down was the Bathroom, it was tiny, like being in the toilet on anAeroplane! It had a small sink and shower unit there was also room for the toilet, just! Our first night we found that the thermostat on the shower did not work properly, the kids were scared to use it as it was so hot!!The poor mites had to have a cold shower instead. The extractor fan was not working either, yea that placed turned into a sauna very quickly!! We reported the faults to the owner,he said he would try and fix the problems. Will, the owner was very friendly he told us that he had taken over the property about 4 years ago and was slowly improving the property. He told me he had plans to enlarge the Bathroom in our room and continue to refurbish and decorate the hotel to a higher standard. The hotel rates at 3 diamonds at present and Will keeps his rates low, attracting regulars throughout the year. Will was great to our kids he kept giving them free drinks and sweets thanks Will! Unfortunately Will wasn't able to fix the shower or the extractor,(he said that he had stripped it down") so we had to put up with smelly kids and burnt skin for the other 2 nights. I wish Will had offered us a bathroom that we could use as the hotel seemed to have empty rooms, however he didn't. breakfast was ok if deep fried is your thing. Will does a good poached egg, would recommend him to buy a good quality sausage, put those minging ones in the bin Will! All in all, despite the bathroom we had a great stay, Southport is a great place to visit the kids loved it espescially Pleasureland make sure you ride the traumatizer, great fun!!!Thanks again for our stay,it was greeeattt!!!!(almost)
