“Well run hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 18, 2012

stayed here for one night. we were made very welcome. we had attic room number 8. was well furnished. Coffee/Tea making facilities. Ensuite bathroom very comfortable bed, small flat screen TV. Parking available at the front of the hotel, Full english breakfast and cereals etc.
Great stay. Chris the host was great nothing is too much trouble.
Only small point the radiators did not come on. Mentioned this to Chris who said she would have bled the radiators. But this did not affect our stay.5 mins to prom, 5 mins to Lord St. shops. Very central location

We recently had a New Years Eve break at this wonderful hotel on Bath Street Southport and as we discovered, extremely lucky to obtain the last of the 8 en-suit rooms that were available.
The room was tastefully decorated and dressed and exceptionally clean and had everything you needed in it.
We had a superb freshly cooked breakfast the following morning after a peaceful nights sleep and the hotel proprietor could not have been more welcoming, professional and friendly to us and all the guest we met during our stay at the hotel.
This Hotel and its owner, Christina, is so very worthy of a 5***** re-rating as far as we are concerned.
Will be recommending your hotel to family, friends and colleagues Christina and hope to revist you again this year.
Best Wishes Always - D. T. Mitchell (Wigan)

The room was beautifully furnished, but would have been a bit cramped if we were staying for longer than the one night. The vegetarian breakfast was good, although the choice of 8.30 or 8.45 was a bit early, and we weren't asked if we wanted white or brown toast; my boyfriend only eats white bread!

The one draw back was the noisy central heating system, which woke us at 7am, and continued to rumble until we went down for breakfast.

Me and my husband stayed here a few weeks ago. After looking at the great reviews we were looking forward to our weekend away. When we arrived, the landlady chris was very nice and we were shown to room 7. A very small room with no view and smelt stale. Also the bathoom was very small, but we didn't plan on staying in the room only to sleep. There was cups and a kettle, coffee etc but no glasses. My husband went down and asked for 2 glasses, with a reply that was 'what do you need glasses for?'. Me and my husband thought this was extremely rude, as we had payed to stay here and all we wanted were 2 glasses. She said she would get us some and bring them up, after 20 minutes no glasses. My husband went back down and asked again to a reply of 'you have 2 cups in your room, so you don't need any glasses you will have to make do with the cups'. Anyway we decided to get a drink in a GLASS from the pub around the corner, we returned and thought we would watch t.v, haha, it stopped working after 5 minutes. My husband went downstairs to tell them and the reply was 'don't you think it's a bit late to be watching t.v, i am not coming up at this time to fix it''. It was 10.15pm, not exactly what i call late! I will not be returning to this B'n'B, and would not recomend this to my worst enemy, we even left in the morning without having breakfast which we payed for. Absolutely disgusting and very rude, do not stay here!!!

This B&B is located one road behind the promenade, so a minutes walk to the pier or the other way to the main shopping walkway. Good for us as we couldn't afford the extortionate prices of Ramada but were close enough to attend a wedding reception held there and stumble back in the wee hours.
There are 8 bedrooms in total, ours was bedroom number 8 which is at the very top of the hotel and had 2 single beds and 1 double in the room, so suitable for a family. The en-suite shower room was on the small side and may not be suitable for family use but there were plenty of towels provided. One point is that the attic window had not been fitted with a blind or curtain so let in a lot of sunlight in the morning.
Breakfast was served promptly and was a good sized portion with traditional english grub though when full you may need to pre-order and have an allocated time in order not to have too crowded breakfast room.
Despite being full that weekend, we were well attended to by Christine who made sure we had a good nights stay and topped up coffee at breakfast.
Parking is limited though sometimes driveways are shared with other B&Bs, check with her first to make sure there's no aggro with some other hotel owners who don't allow others onto their drives.
p.s. we checked the bar tariff and though didn't make use of this, the prices looked very reasonable.
Good value, good service and I would recommend this B&B to anyone.
